I would expect him to be better than Mccarron. Thats not exactly a high threshhold.

Pathetic flame. He was the offensive MVP of the NCG correct? He lit us up. Had a pretty good year, especially considering it was his first year starting.

Arm strength is just one of many attributes you need to have to play qb. aj's strength is his accuracy IMO (Highest percentage in the SEC)... which I would rate a notch above arm strength.

Mett will be expected to win the NC next year and there will be no exceptions.

some are expecting too much, but after what we saw from JJ, i don't think many can blame LSU fans for hoping and wanting more from that position.

WTH are ya'll talking about? Macarron was rated higher than Mett out of HS and performed 10X better at combines.

And the personality type comparison is crap as well. ESPN ran with the segments of Macarron admitting he's a passionate, emotional guy. Gets hyped up real quick. He just "gunned down" the 2nd best defense in the land. Now that's a cowboy QB.

McCarron had a reputation as a gunslinger too. Then he got into a Saban offense, which is not totally different from a Miles offense with the emphasis on avoiding turnovers.

Offensive MVP in BCS game this year was a joke. It probably should have gone to the kicker.

McCarron is pretty average, yet obviously better than JL or JJ. I would expect Mettenberger to be at least above avg given our talent on offense.

You are the reason I hate most of our fans.

A bunch of LSU fans are expecting him to come in and light it up right off the bat. I'd be willing to bet that LSU's passing game will be overshadowed by the running game early on. I really doubt he'll be allowed to play like he did in JUCO at LSU.

Look I'm not trying to take a jab or burst an LSU bubble here....but the expectations are really out of hand.

Mett's JUCO national title < Macarron's SEC play and BCS national title.

ETA: And Macarron is the one just getting started. This was his FIRST YEAR!

I agree but i just dont think expecting him to be better than AJM is so appalling. I dont think he will be as good as Wilson or Murray, but he ought to be in the top half of the league for sure.

He won't, but I think he could easily have a Jamarcus Russell 2006 season before he leaves.

I dont think he'll have a year like JR but slightly above Flynn would be reasonable.

Ok point out where I said otherwise. Or do you just suck at responding to the right person?
