I watched it. UGA was a comedy of errors - especially the punter kneeling before kicking the ball away. WTF ...

1- Swift hasn't fumbled all year, fumbled twice. Not normal.
Coaches usually adjust for this.
quote:
2- Our best receiver Holloman dropped four passes. Not normal.
Most coaches stop targeting players after their first two drops. Some days people just don't have it.
quote:
3- Our punter has been money all year. He kneeled one and shanked the next. That basically counts as two turnovers. Not normal.
Bad luck, happens to everyone every game. This is not an excuse.
quote:
4- Our all-world CB D. Baker sat out the game, the next man up was unprepared true freshman Tyson Cambell who had already lost his job earlier in the year.
Weird, Dan Mullen convinced every single one of his players to come play despite their chances at the NFL Draft. Pro-Tip: Florida has four juniors leaving early so far, and every single one of them played in the game.
Maybe your coach should inspire his players?
quote:
5- Our best LB D. Walker couldn't play due to groin injury.
You guys didn't stop this from shite talking Florida fans for missing both starting CBs and Safety #1 when you guys won, I'm not sure why you think this is a good excuse now.

And we only lost by 1 score.
No, Texas was in such a comfortable position from wiping the floor with your fricking faces that they just decided to let their foot off of the gas. Texas was never in doubt of a comeback, had no problem kicking an onside kick to start the second half and going for it multiple times on 4th down because they had no respect for your team.
Smart shite his pants on national television again and these excuses are extremely similar to what Gators fans said about Muschamp.

But what if Colt hadn't got hurt?

Ain't no excuse, Georgia was not prepared and Texas was.
That falls right at the feet of Kirby Smart and he needs to own it and improve.

I think this post would have been just fine -- there's nothing wrong with acknowledging reality -- had you taken the opportunity to concede that y'all were beaten fair and square by a team that shut down your offense and outcoached your HC. LSU fans aren't shy about pointing out how they were hobbled, after all, but they don't have to concede anything because, well, they won. Just the different expectations reserved for winning teams vs those for losing teams. Gotta take your licks.

Texas is a good team.
If we play 10 times, we win 7 of them. No question.

Funny how your fans can see that in the UGA/Texas game but can't in the Bama/OU game. Lots of OU posters after the latter coming here with the delusion that they ever actually had even a remote chance to win.

That's all I have to say.

Sometimes teams play like crap. Bama played like crap against Georgia in the SEC Championship Game and still won.

Maybe, but I'm still not convinced anyone has figured out the X factor that made UGA so unprepared. Your list is valid; I just have this nagging uncertainty that anyone can put a finger on what went wrong for UGA and therefore what could be fixed. My best guess so far is something to do with the coaches not properly impressing on the players that this could actually be a dogfight. But that's just random speculation I've been doing in the few hours since the game.

It was quite clear to me that we most likely wouldn't win this game. The prospects of our fired, low IQ defensive staff developing a game plan that would even remotely slow Bama down never crossed my mind in any realistic sense. It went as I expected.
Even the embarrassing schematic defensive shitshow, just like we witnessed against georgia last year, reared its ugly head again for one last hoorah.
Behold!

Well, fair is fair. Multiple Sooner fans did exactly what I described after the game, but you don't appear to be one of them, so I acknowledge unfairly extending the generalization to you. My bad.

What is wrong with that picture? Looks like a great scheme.
If you are Bama

It must suck being a Ga fan. It is a wonder why any recruit would want to play for them.

Regardless of what any of those Sooner fans said, 100% of Sooner fans knew we didn't have the horses on defense, or in the pressbox/sidelines, to challenge Alabama in any real sense.
We have suffered through this jackassery for 7 straight years, and squandered two generational offenses in the process, and it's finally coming to an end.
