Whoever offered him that kind of money should be glad he said no.

When does the insanity stop? NIL is relatively a new thing and we're already seeing dollar amounts like this being thrown around for one player! No matter how many rich donors you have, no college can sustain throwing money around long term. There is no doubt in my mind that this upcoming year there's going to be several big colleges that will have rosters in excess of $25M in NIL deals and it's only going to go up from there!

This is the last year of these huge deals. They go to revenue sharing next season

Revenue sharing has nothing to do with NIL deals.. if Nike offers $25 million a year for a kid to go to Oregon, there isn't anything that can be done about it..

So is revenue sharing just sharing the money that's in the schools collective evenly?

Btw,they are now saying that it will count as financial aid and that title 9 will come into effect

There is a stench in college extracurricular activities when 8 million is offered a "student athlete" to play. The entire system will implode shortly.

I don't know all the rules.. but yes, something like that.. I just know that you can't limit someone's earning power with advertising their name and such..

It'll stop. Rich people didn't get rich by pissing money away. Once they are not getting the ROI, which would mean championships, the faucets will dry up. This isn't a decade ago with boosters dropping 20k bags. This is real money and it'll dry up.

The horns fan(s) here said that Ewers would go to the NFL because UTA was tired of Quinn, and pined for Arch.

Said there was no way Ewers would enter the Transfer Portal because no one would pay him what UTA paid, and he would make more in NFL. You argued with folks who suggested that Oregon might be interested.

Now you come in here, thumping your chest(s) that someone, probably Oregon, was going to pay Ewers $8Million in 2025, which is very unlikely any NFL team would do.

ETA: I’m not sure who would even float this bullshite story besides the “author “ of the story and Ewers agency. It doesn’t increase his NFL draft grade. Probably boosts some social media clicks for all though.

SMU has a literal billionaire buying a championship roster with his millionaire friends right now, and even they said they’d only fund it for 5 years.

They can sit their poor asses down.
