So in that 4 seconds or the other 20 seconds prior to this where was Miles with his timeout, that he had available?

Who gives a shite? He caught it and even if he hadn't, we would have had time to kick a field goal.

Did you seriously list a bunch of close games as a way of arguing that Miles hasn't been lucky?

Auburn and Florida in '05

What was skillful about Vaughn missing 5 field goals?

Not the best argument

You have no idea wtf you're talking about here runt. Byrd caught the ball with 4 seconds left. If it was tipped we'd still have 2 seconds left.

There was 1 second left after that play.

I don't care if you bring up his record. He has a great record, feel free to take up for him becasue of it.

But don't sit here and pretend that he hasn't caught his share of breaks.

Concurred. Even though we took the lead in the 4th, I knew it was over when I realized Les had 3 timeouts.

I agree, time is stopped when the official blows the play dead. How much time was left on the clock when the play was whistled dead?

and why does it matter? He made a great catch, TD LSU.

LSU could have scored with 60 seconds on the clock and it wouldn't have mattered with that God awful offense AU ran that year. I'm more surprised AU lost on a last second TD. The game shouldn't have been close

+1. Thanks Chiz. The problem with that play is that the stadium clock operator let the clock run down to zero, and the officials had to put 2 seconds back on the clock. The announcers conveniently chortled that "the clock has run out..." Nooooooooooooooo....
Even though Byrd actually caught the ball with 4 seconds showing, in "real time" the clock ran down while Byrd secured the ball and the official raised his arms :)
Just out of curiosity, I'm not getting where this "40 seconds - 20 seconds left" fantasies are coming from ???? (from other posts)

Oh well, as you said, it doesn't matter....
Auburn got revenge last year after 2 straight LSU wins....
