Missouri AD that time wanted to hire him for 4 Million dollars a year. Harsin wanted 5 million dollars and both party parted away. I never did like the Harsin hire. I am glad Missouri AD that time ended hiring Drinkwitz.

Gus stopped recruiting in his final years. Harsin arrived and never recruited. We essentially were given the death penalty for 3 years

The worst coaching move EVER MADE was Auburn telling Smart that f he wanted the Auburn job he couldn't coach Bama in the playoffs. He was yours, but he told Auburn he owed it to his players to coach them, you guys went out and got Gus, who got very lucky vs. Georgia, and were gifted the Bama game with like 20 horrible calls, vs. the best Bama team we ever had, we would have destroyed FSU. Not saying you guys were bad under Gus, just that Kirby was much better, and we all know that.
Yet, all because of not wanting Kirby to coach in the Playoffs (Bama hate by Housel I guess) you guys threw away would could have been a magical ride. Hell, I would have been happy with Saban signing a contract saying he would retire in 2017-18 if that meant keeping Smart, I knew he was that good.
Ever wonder what could have been?

So, Gus left a viable enough operation? I’ve heard multiple times the last few years that Auburn’s talent is why they’ve been losing a lot of games.
