So why is John Bond and Kenny Rogers the two Ms State alums on the record as having been involved in the recruiting process?

Well Kenny Rogers was allegedly the one shopping Newton around, and there has been no indication that Bond was involved in the recruiting process. Have you been under a rock for the last week?

From my 33 year old brother whos an Auburn grad

I am going to issue a report to a newspaper that kirk herbstreit is a cross dresser, should he have to prove he's not just because some coward won't give his name when making accusations? Seems fair.

If Auburn were to beat Oregon or TCU in the BCSCG, and then be declared ineligible, I think the championship would simply be vacant rather than awarded to the losing team.

The NCAA moves so slow you wonder if this could be done before SEC champ, probably not. However, if Auburn goes on to win SEC, then beat TCU in BCS, then what a mess!! So they blow out TCU 35-10 and then NCAA says later in July 2011, "whoops, we're sorry AU QB is ineligible so we're sorry that TCU team that got the mess beat out of them are National Champs now. I mean do you even hold a victory parade for that (if you're a TCU fan)!! What a mess they got to handle this fast. Call in the feds, too much money involved.

This is why the NCAA basically has no choice IMO but to move fast and make a ruling one way or another! The Bush saga was NEVER this fast and furious during his time at USC.

Guys, nobody wants a tainted National Championship, a tainted SEC Championship, and another tainted Heisman winner. We will know something before the SEC Championship game and before the Heisman is awarded.

Because of what is on the line here, I believe all agencies (NCAA, SEC, FBI, etc.) will try to quickly wrap up this investigation. That is why the next few weeks will reveal all there is to know about Cam and his Reverend/Father.

Quit comparing this to the Reggie Bush situation. It is apples and oranges. A decision regarding his eligibility will be made before the SEC Championship in order to make sure that the appropriate (aka eligible) team is representing the West. I truly believe this.

If this thing keeps heading south, I'm really pissed off for the Auburn fans. They don't deserve this BS.

If John Bond is not involved in the recruiting process, why is he fielding money offers from recruits?

I agree with this, something has to be done quick.

I think his point is that the bidding process is illegal not the item itself.

Because Rogers was the one doing the pimping and he happened to be a former teammate of Bond. There has been no indication that Bond acts in any kind of recruiting capacity for State.

I see what you are getting at here, but keep in mind... two wrongs don't make a right.

Miss. St. messed up somewhere. Either their coaches talked to the media about a recruit, or someone outside of the coaching staff was recruiting.

I don't think trying to take Mississippi state down with you will help you to gain anything. You should be focused on what is going on with Auburn.

I didn't read through this whole thread, so it may have already been asked:

How fricking stupid are these people?

I mean, saying this shite to recruiters? Over the phone? Really?

Unbelievable.

Would be awesome if South Park made a reference this week in the finale of their trilogy.

You're talking about a guy who used his stolen laptop to access his "cnewton" account on the UF student access system and then tried to hide the laptop by throwing it out of a window.
