They could probably name a player as coach, and he would be able to beat Tennessee on talent alone for at least 4 years.

I wouldn't overreact. I think it's a really good hire. More upside than Bielema in my opinion. Honestly, I think this is the best hire so far. Sometimes AD's are under pressure to hire a big name guy instead of the best coach available. I think you guys lucked out by getting turned down by Gundy and Strong.

Tennessee's attendance is going to be putrid. Not to mention the athletic department is almost certainly going to lose on that 18 million dollars.

But but but I thought UT was Gruden's dream job?
Not a bad hire, but it doesn't exactly scare me either.

You guys needed a program builder and didn't get one. And who knows if he can recruit in the south.

I still don't beliee it, this is their Rich Rod report on ESPN. The UT coach will be John Gruden.

It's in every way a terrible hire at a time when Tennessee desperately needed to get it right. I'd be stunned if Tennessee wins the SEC within the next decade.

I'd love to believe this, but this is official.

Time to take a step back from Tennessee football. If this is what we're going to get, it's not worth it.

He's done alright at Cincy, at least give him a chance.
Not all schools have an ad that can steal coaches away from ND and Texas.

That is a pretty chicken shti thing to say if you are really a fan of the program. I have been an Alabama fan my entire life and I pulled for the Tide all of those years we were not so good.

If you think about it the good times are very brief and few and far between. It is Alabama and LSU's time right now and it will one day go away. I am enjoying it now but I will always enjoy Alabama football.

You are a putz.
