People might not like Brian Kelly personally, but the facts overwhelmingly show that he's a top 10 coach. He twice took Notre Dame to the four-team College Football Playoff, went 34-6 at Cincinnati with an undefeated season, won the SEC West in his first year at LSU, has 13 finishes in the AP top 20 and owns two Division II national titles. I like some of the young coaches in this top 10, but they haven't accomplished a fraction of what BK has in his career.
I like Brian Kelly personally and as a coach

personally i’d take deboer over kirby but hard to disagree really.

Personally I absolutely think Kalen DeBoer is the 2nd best coach in the country. He's absolutely better than multi national champion Dabo. I don't see how he isn't a massive winner and wins 3+ nattys at Alabama.

And no one can decide on the first year. He has plenty of talent to work with for sure. But they aren’t his players. You have to give the guy several years and understand there is only one Nick Saban.

Huepel should be way up on this list and will prove it this upcoming season.
The fighting Dabeors are going to get made to look silly this year. It won't be close like it was in 2022.
Even Joe Milton went up on Saban's last team 21-0. Gumps who actually know football are scared shitless of the his first season under him and for good reason.
I'm not saying he won't be successful. But the first season will be a lot rougher than many people think for the redneck sidewalkers.

Coach DeBoer just took a downtrodden 4-win Washington team and went 25-3 in 2 seasons and a playoff berth. Along the way, Coach DeBoer beat Dan Lanning and Oregon 3 times, Sarkisian and the Shorthorns 2 times, and Lincoln Riley and USC 2 times. Overall, Coach Deboer sits at 104-12 in his career. Kirby is getting the push because of success and recruiting. I like our coaches Xs and Os on gameday.
This BAMA team is loaded with elite talent and what they lack in a couple of positions in depth this spring's magic portal will solve that. The center that started for Washington and transferred to BAMA can't beat out James Brockermeyer. James has waited his turn and he has been 1st team since day one. So, I'm sure he is on the way out again. With Proctor returning the OL will be better than last season.
Just to say, we have a ton of elite talent that will get on the field earlier because BAMA is now playing schemes that let them simplify, understand, and play fast. And yes, that is completely different from the last 17 years. BAMA is already up and running.

He may succeed but the first year won't be pretty. Also he had a generational QB in Phenix at QB to work with. That can always make any coach look elite.

Penix is no generational QB. Not at ALABAMA. Do you pay attention to the draft? Jalen Milroe is going to get turned loose this season. In short, you don't have a clue as to how BAMA is going to look.

That’s a pretty thin list, honestly. .

BK has just had longer to prove he isn't a top 10 coach

Kelly is a career 3-4 loss/season coach. He has a Big East Title and that is it. Brian is C+ coach.
He is in the 12-15 range. Seems ESPN got it right
