Fran Brown from Syracuse should be there.

He tried to hire Jimbo from Texas A&M to LSU. Texas A&M matched Woodward’s $95 million dollar offer. So, Woodward offered that money to Kelly.

Utterly and completely false.

Your answer was a division II national championship game over 20 years ago. Is this still your answer? Brian Kelly’s biggest win as a head coach is at the division II level 23 years ago. THAT is why people say Kelly can’t win big games.

I know why they say it, low IQ folks usually have hot takes not based in fact.

Much like you were insisting it's Kelly's responsible to provide a good medical staff. Not based in reality whatsoever, but dumb people believe dumb things.

People said Kirby couldn't win a natty, but then he did. Same with Harbaugh. Same with Ryan Day.

Will BK win a natty? I don't know, but he certainly "can".

This one is gonna sting Sidewalk. You may want to go ahead and grab some salve.

CBS Sports - Failed Jimbo Fisher Experiment Should Provide Lessons

quote:

The day Jimbo Fisher inked a fully guaranteed 10-year, $75 million contract with Texas A&M was the beginning of a great experiment in college football. Salaries were quickly rising, sure, but Fisher's contract structure broke the market.

Fisher's contract with the Aggies promised him every cent outlined within the agreement, even if he was fired. For comparison, seven-time national champion Nick Saban has a $44 million buyout. Even worse, Fisher owed the school zero buyout dollars to leave for another job. There was no offset language in the contract, meaning that Fisher would get the entire worth of his deal even if he were to take another job. Essentially, he earns more money by getting fired than he ever could by coaching.

When LSU came calling in 2021, Texas A&M doubled down. The Aggies signed Fisher to another 10-year, $95 million contract, which simply restarted the clock. Just two years later, however, those chickens came home to roost.

While the Fisher contract was ridiculed at the time, it ultimately created an arms race. In 2021, LSU lured Brian Kelly away from Notre Dame with a 10-year, $100 million offer.

No sir, contracts are not just opinions.

Nah, no reasonable person said this. He was eventually going to break through.

Same with Harbaugh

He clearly cheated, and may have this vacated.

Same with Ryan Day.

Only reason he won is new format and $20 million roster. If Saban doesn’t retire, OSU probably doesn’t have their star safety or starting center and likely doesn’t win the NC.

Nothing about any of those 3 should make you feel better about BK. His only chance is to catch lightning in a bottle like Ed O, but that’s even harder to do now given the expanded playoffs. The good coaches and teams get multiple shots making it harder for a team like LSU or AU to find an acorn with coaches like Gene, Ed, Hugh, or BK.

The statement that Jimbo received that extension because LSU came calling is definitely just an opinion.

Yet, you listed the expanded playoff as a reason why Day was able to win.

You seem fairly inconsistent with many of your statements.

5. Steve Sarkisian, Texas
6. Dan Lanning, Oregon
7. Kalen DeBoer, Alabama
8. James Franklin, Penn State
9. Kyle Whittingham, Utah
10. Matt Campbell, Iowa State

I would not trade Josh Heupel for most of the coaches on that list.

This may be the dumbest thing you’ve posted on this board, and that’s saying something.

I’m sure they extended Jimbo to a ridiculous contract out of the goodness of their hearts…smh

OSU isn’t AU or LSU. It’s not inconsistent at all, and once again shows your ignorance.

The Blue Bloods with the richest rosters, who have a coach that will drop games in the regular season he shouldn’t, will benefit from the extra chances. The upstarts with a limited roster and subpar coach are hurt by having to beat multiple good teams in regular season and playoffs. They lose by giving the Blue Bloods more chances to beat them. This really isn’t rocket science, Sidewalk. Even you should be able to understand.

Judging from all of the inconsistencies and laughable statements you've posted here, it doesn't shock me that actual fact and logic would baffle you and you may ultimately dismiss it as "dumb."

Fools always believe they are actually intelligent.

They extended him because they were on an upward trend and had just barely missed the playoff. They also had the best class ever incoming.

They truly believed they were on the cusp of an epic run.

Sure.

My entire point is that people trash Kelly for losing to elite teams that no one else really beat either.

The only outlier would be his Fiesta Bowl loss to Ohio State, unless you're trashing him for losing BCS bowls at a G5.

Sidewalk is obviously special needs.

Danny White would not trade Josh for anyone. That is one reason we don't worry about Josh leaving for OU. They already stabbed him in the back once. Danny has proved that he has Josh's back.

I would not trade Josh or any coach on that list for BK.
