Personally I mean these are good for the coffee shop, talk radio and TV shows but not much more. None of these early season polls and computer rankings should get anyone riled up.

SP+ is intended to be predictive and forward-facing. That is important to remember. It is not a résumé ranking that gives credit for big wins or particularly brave scheduling -- no good predictive system is. It is simply a measure of the most sustainable and predictable aspects of football. If you're lucky or unimpressive in a win, your rating will probably fall. If you're strong and unlucky in a loss, it will probably rise.

I know Clemson’s offense numbers are lower but they also played a good to decent A@M team.
Which 15-20 teams should be ranked higher than Auburn or Florida and please give detailed reasoning why

State is ranked there because of preseason numbers that will gradually fall out the next 2 weeks as new, actual game data comes in and State will in all likelihood take a tumble.
