Where is the irony in Auburn fans talking about how guilty Gurley is? I believe the AJC quoted a close source close to Georgia saying there was overwhelming proof that Gurley has signed this stuff for money
I am sure you are likely one of the Georgia pukes who cried about Cam, Fairley, etc. for years even though there was not one shred of evidence Cam ever accepted anything and Georgia has had plenty of Fairleyesque type of dirty players themselves

Fairley was chop blocked in the first quarter of that game. He had the freedom to do whatever he wanted as far as I'm concerned.

Thank you kind sir. I do, however have a problem with Gurley signing those items. He knew the rules and violated them. It may be a silly rule, but it's a rule nonetheless. That being said, what Gurley did is far overshadowed by the actions of the snitch.

11Alive's UGA Insider Radi Nabulsi said that teammates reported that Gurley told them on Thursday, "It's been nice playing with you." Nabulsi stressed that no context was given as to what was being said when that statement was made.

That entire post proves my point. You say there is a source saying there is proof. Auburn fans will never admit wrongdoing.
That is the irony. You defended Cam the entire time, when even the NCAA knew old Cecil was paid by Auburn (and even closed the loophole that allowed it, but couldn't do anything about it).
What you idiots just can't seem to grasp is that NO ONE is absolving Gurley. DO YOU AUBURN PEOPLE GRASP COMPREHENSION? Good lord. Again, most people are more outraged by the dealer and his actions, they are not trying to deflect blame from Gurley. Why is it so hard for you to understand.
Gurley is GUILTY, but that is not the issue. You have found no one that disagrees with the assessment that Gurley is guilty, yet you act as if he murdered someone, while you can't understand why the narrative has turned to the dealer. The issue is that most Auburn fans are placing most of the blame on Gurley, while the rest of the world understands that the dealer is the bigger part of the story and is receiving most of the vitriol.
Jesus you people are obtuse.

Jesus Christ. Get over it. What the hell does Fairley have to do with the price of tea in China? What the hell is wrong with you people? What do they put in the water in Auburn? It's like trying to reason with lab monkeys. Discourse with some of you guys is the internet equivalent of flinging poo.

quote:There are reasons for rules against it. A school could easily tell a recruit we can set you up with an autograph broker and you can sell your autograph legally for thousands of dollars. If you want to do that, you might as well kill the myth that these players are amateurs and start paying them like pros
Gurley made money off his own name and is getting in trouble. Another guy who made money off Gurley has absolutely no consequences. Dumbass rule.

FYI, auburnphan23 is not really an Auburn fan. He has been routinely outed as an alter, so save your rational argument. Leave at Gurley was wrong, the dealer is a POS and move on.

You seem like nothing more than a typical Georgia hypocrite who constantly whines and cries about how dirty everyone else is while not only ignoring the misdeeds of your own fricking school but actually whining and crying about unfairly you are treated.

You and your fellow mutts outrage about Cam was laughable from the beginning considering the most successful era of Georgia football in their entire history back in the early 1980' was tainted by an actual Georgia professor named Jan Kemp claiming they were cheating like hell during this period. A situation the NCAA never did anything about despite Jan Kemp testifying to these facts under the penalty of perjury in court

Who's alter? If he's an alter, I would feel much better. I would rather have the hook set than to know there is someone that dumb out there. Good to know. No sense in rising to the bait, then.

The NCAA knew Cecil was paid to the extent of bringing in the FEDS. They found nothing. Try hiding a few tens of thousands of dollars from them. See how that works out for you. You really think somebody could hide 6 digits from them?

I have never been outed as an alter. Get the mods to check my IP address. Some people might accuse me of being an alter from time to time, but they have done nothing to back up those claims

I could be dead wrong and completely fooled, but I don't think you're an alter. You're pretty much exactly what I think of when I imagine a typical AU fan.

It just got more interesting. Link to AJC shows legal (civil) recourse for enticing a college athlete.
LINK
Introduced by a Bama fan in GA. legislature in 2003. It's yet to be utilized, but it's on the books.
There is even talk of criminalizing it, but not sure it would be applicable in this case.

Gurley is being represented by attorney William H. King III of the Birmingham, Alabama-based firm of Lightfoot, Franklin and White. Same folks that represented Cam and JFF.

Never understood AU fans bashing on Georgia when 10% of the school and 30% of the football team is from there.
Frankly, I think UGA/AU had a solid mutual respect thing until Cam and then Marshall. I guess Championships change people but I guess we may never get to know that lol.
