This may be a bit strong, but when an adult like him goes after a younger person like Gurley and then tries to ruin him like that, he sounds like a predator to me.

He's also a moron for thinking his anonymity would be intact. Just a bad human being.

No doubt he is a predator, and deserves everything that is coming his way. Most people will be on Gurley's side in this matter and understand this guy is a slimeball, but the fact remains that Gurley has got to know better. It is a sad state of affairs, however, that a guy can get away with something like this, while Gurley and the entire football team has to suffer.

I agree with you, but Gurley has to be smart and tell the guy no I'm not signing autographs. All Gurley has to do is wait til next April and he'll get paid. Kid's a dumbass.

While he could have waited a few months, the kid is talented and will get drafted high regardless. Those NCAA rules to preserve 'amateurism' are dumb. I don't begrudge any player who chooses to violate those rules.

ETA: Would rather Gurley get paid for his jersey than the Georgia AD. But I digress...

You can spin it any you you want. Just go to your own board. Go to the guys facebook page. Go to any UGA site and most of the talk is "that guy is a scum bag. I wish him harm." Most of the talk is not "Gurley is such a dumb arse. Why did he do this"? Now I have seen some saying this, but the majority are putting the blame at the feet of the dealer. I agree that the dealer is a scum bag. I also know that said dealer did not twist Gurley's arm...nor did the other dealer who has 500 pieces...and there may even be more we haven't seen yet. It's an absurd rule, but it is a rule nonetheless.

Of course most people are going to be upset with a snitch. Not just UGA fans, but nationally. Very few people are assigning more blame to Gurley than they are to that POS. No one is defending Gurley, saying that he bears no responsibility, however, they find that scumbag's actions totally reprehensible. It seems like you guys are missing the point, although you seem to be more reasonable than some. No one is absolving Gurley, they just find that guy to be a complete POS and are expressing that opinion. If Gurley were selling the autographs directly himself, he would be getting reamed by UGA fans right now. However, the fact that this guy did what he did has totally taken over the narrative. Nobody likes a snitch, especially when it comes to ruining someone's college career over something minor (in the minds of the general public, not the NCAA). Not sure why Auburn fans cannot understand that distinction.

No jorts, no proof. Although the flat bill is a bit damaging to UF's case when it comes to his fandom.

Sounds like the story was going to break eventually. The dealer expedited it.

I still think while vitriol towards the dealer is understandable it is still a deflection away from the primary offender in Gurley and if something happens to a dealer thanks to a Georgia fan it will be a pr disaster for Uga.

Maybe it could have broken after the SEC Championship and they would let him play in the bowl/playoffs and miss 4 games next year.

It has now come out that Gurley has been signing this stuff for 18 months and has received thousands of dollars in return. If this information in the original post is true, I don't understand why anybody outside the Georgia fan base has any sympathy for Gurley.

Is there any Auburn fan out there that has enough mental capacity to understand the general perception around the country that this guy is a total slimeball and has become the story? The worst part is these simpletons don't understand the irony involved in their incessant prattling about Gurley and how guilty he is. Good lord.

Maybe we should just stick to telling Auburn fans about the rabbits.

Gurley made money off his own name and is getting in trouble. Another guy who made money off Gurley has absolutely no consequences. Dumbass rule.

Sure, the guy looks terrible. I actually feel sorry a bit for Gurley and don't have a big problem with selling autographs (even if there are clearly rules against it).
