Keep deflecting. Your boy was arrested just over a week ago. He was a convicted criminal for the past two yrs. But don't let that get in the way of anything, like playing time. After all, missing the La Tech game was sufficient to determine he was an Au man all the way.

I'm deflecting? I'm glad ES is off the team. You are the one defending a player that has altercations with females. Of course her dad did too. Must be a bammer thing.

I've not made any excuses at all for it. If you can show me where I have, I'd appreciate it.

I've not defended a thing. I've simply pointed out that you are bringing up a 2 y.o. incident to deflect what Auburn has had on it's own team the last two yrs. Look at page one and the OP says, ERIC SMITH. Nothing about Upshaw. If you want to discuss that, then start another thread. This one is all bout the shitty job Chiz did of disciplining the guy from the get go.

When Smith got into a bar fight with another male student, who may or may not have instigated it, he was punished and given a second chance. When he allegedly struck a female, he was kicked off the team and proved he didn't deserve the second chance he was given. Point to one post in this entire thread defending him.

You seem to be the one defending/deflecting about the punishment Upshaw received for hitting a female.

So, your only issue is that you felt the thread had been taken a little off topic?

Nevermind the fact that this was a guy he fought and that guy instigated it and then got his arse kicked.

Cool story bro. Did Eric tell you that himself?

quote:

However, Tuesday’s lawsuit alleges that Smith and two other Auburn football players were the instigators.

It claims the two unidentified players approached Jenkins and his friend at the hotel in a “provocative and belligerent” manner. Jenkins’ friend stepped between them and said, “We don’t want any trouble.” He was immediately knocked unconscious by one of the players, according to the lawsuit.

Smith then approached Jenkins and knocked a drink out of his hand, after which Smith and the football players began “to pummel Jenkins with hands and fists about his body and face.”

After being knocked to the floor, Jenkins claims he fled the assault downstairs toward the entrance of the hotel. Smith followed and, in front of four police officers, punched Jenkins in the back of the head, leaving him “unconscious in a pool of blood.”

The suit says Jenkins suffered a tennis ball-sized knot over his eye and a gash that required 14 stitches. He claims to have since suffered from post-concussion syndrome symptoms like headaches, nausea and sleeplessness.

The "murder" comment was me exaggerating, but how many licks could you take from a couple of AU players before you end up with some serious brain damage?

Alabama linebacker Courtney Upshaw and his girlfriend both agreed to dismiss charges filed against the other after a lover's spat this summer. No one is more excited about this than the girl's father who exited the courthouse shouting, "Roll Tide!"

Both Upshaw and Kendall Gryzb were arrested after getting in a on-campus fight back in August. (She allegedly slapped him after seeing him talk to another woman and it escalated from there.) Earlier today, a judge agreed to drop the charges against both of them and expunge their records, provided they both complete anger management classes. Sounds good. But none of this would have been possible without the love and support of Kendall's father. His love and support for Alabama football, that is.

From the very beginning, Dave Grzyb told everyone who would listen that his daughter was the one to blame for the whole incident. He even made a personal call to coach Nick Saban, vouching for Upshaw's innocence and as a result, Upshaw was not disciplined by the team. Then after this morning's court hearing, according to the Tuscaloosa News, "Gryzb's father shielded her from news cameras at the Tuscaloosa County Courthouse Wednesday morning. He turned around to yell "Roll Tide!" as they left the building."

Man, if only Romeo could have run 4.4-40 just think what that might have done for the Montagues and the Capulets.

He got his nose bloodied. The "fight" was over. The guy was leaving and Smith ran up behind and sucker punched the guy. POS move. Trying to defend that as a fight is a bit ridiculous. He plead guilty and the other guy WAS NOT charged. If it had been a true fight, the other guy woulda been charged too. Your boy was guilty of attacking the engineering student. Tough guy he is.

Trying to make out that he was defending himself against some vicious guy a couple of years ago kinda sounds like you're defending his beating of some guy.

What's the title of the thread about? Again, if you wanna talk Upshaws shortcomings start another thread. This one is about Smith and the hack job Chiz did in coddling him.

You are going to sarcastically ask that statement and then point to the accusers lawsuit seeking money as proof of the actual facts? At least have some intellectual honesty about your argument.

Let's all agree:

Eric Smith is a frickface and a thug who didn't deserve the chances he got.

I'm not gonna talk about it anymore. Not that I have been talking about it, but you get my point.

That's what I did. I thought I called it a bar fight, where it was unknown who instigated it. I didn't defend it, I said he was given a second chance that he shite away.

LOL you just posted the lawsuit that is complete BS. I know what happened that night.

And the only reason I brought up Upshaw was in a response to one your bammer buddies who apparently thinks AU has the only player that has ever been arrested on a football team.

And for a guy that plead guilty to a crime, Chiz did very little to curb his actions. Same after the NC game.

According to police reports. It was a hotel, and Upshaw never hit a female. Going further, it was Smith that is being sued for starting the fight, so there is a source listing who instigated it. At this point, I'm on the side of believing the guy who wasn't arrested and plead guilty as to whose fault it was.
