Not sure if you are serious or not. Alabama has a player starting that is still on the team after being arrested for the exact same thing as Eric Smith.

riiiight. Courtney never got in trouble before and hasn't since. And Courtney and the girl were both arrested. And Upshaw certainly didn't beat anyone to a pulp.

Nah he is just a what 250 pound linebacker dragging around a 100 pound girl by the hair. Why would he ever miss a quarter?? Rawl Tahd!

Of course we all know it depends on how the game is going anyway on bammer suspensions.

It was during the offseason and the charges were dropped. I'm quite sure he had to run plenty of sprints for it.

Your boy was one or two punches away from a murder charge and was suspended for one game? Weagle Weagle.

If it's made up the arresting cop made it up. It was in the police report that he grabbed her by the hair and drug her. Now I'm sure after Saban and her dad went on a tirade through the police office it might of been changed and dropped.

One or two punches away from murder. Now that is making shite up and you get an A+ for it. Nevermind the fact that this was a guy he fought and that guy instigated it and then got his arse kicked.

No, it wasn't. But if you can provide a link to back up that accusation, I'll readily admit I was mistaken.

Not to be picky, but that pic will be updated.

AUBURN FAMILY (violence.) Eric Smith is technically no longer part of the Auburn football team after the week, but the repeat offender was on the team when he was arrested for a domestic violence charge. The third degree felony domestic violence charges, repeat offender bonus, and hitting girls bonus get Smith and by extension Auburn a total of five points.

CORRECTION: The charges against Smith are misdemeanor-level, so three points is the correct tally here. Our apologies.

Arresting officer Rusty Romine said he spotted Upshaw following Gryzb in the parking lot. He said she appeared to be shouting at Upshaw after he caught up with her.

"At this time Upshaw grabbed Gryzb by the back of the neck and hair" and appeared to try to push her down, Romine wrote in a deposition and charge sheet.

He said she freed herself and attempted to hit Upshaw in the face but missed, then the player grabbed her forearm and pushed her away.

Romine said he separated the two. The officer said both indicated the altercation started after Grzyb saw Upshaw talking to another female. Grzyb said she slapped him and walked away, then Upshaw followed her, the report said.

Sgt. Rusty Romine of the University of Alabama Police Department reported in court documents obtained by the Press-Register that he saw Upshaw chase down Grzyb and he then "grabbed (Kendall) Grzyb by the back of the neck and hair with his right hand and pushed her downward in what appeared to be an attempt to push her to the ground."

Romine's account goes on to say that Grzyb freed herself and "attempted to strike Upshaw about his face, however she was unable to make contact. Upshaw then grasped Grzyb's right arm by the forearm, released and then pushed Grzyb away."

At that time, Romine said he separated the two and Upshaw told him that Grzyb slapped him and walked away after seeing him talking to another female. The documents say Grzyb told Romine that "Upshaw followed her, grabbed her by the back of the neck and pusher her."

pushed her is a far cry from dragging her around by her hair. Stupid arse. Trying to defend that thug that was on Au's team for 3 yrs and the fact he plead guilty to assaulting a guy and leaving him unconscious in a pool of blood after hitting him from behind. That's the Au way though. Cheap shots are a part of being inducted into the Au family.

Point me to one time I have defended him.

Grabbed her by the neck and hair and pushed her to the ground, may be different that dragging her, but it is not that he just pushed her either.

You're right. What Upshaw did was totally fine. There is no reason to suspend a player for getting in to an altercation with a female. None at all. Like Saban said he is as good a person that is on your football team. I, for one, believe it.

Keep deflecting. Your boy was arrested just over a week ago. He was a convicted criminal for the past two yrs. But don't let that get in the way of anything, like playing time. After all, missing the La Tech game was sufficient to determine he was an Au man all the way.

Any player that EVER hits a woman for ANY reason should be kicked off the team immediately (and arrested) and no fan should ever make excuses for that behavior.
