I dont think it would be that big of a deal. Next class is the one where we really need a stud QB.

Ah, found something on Burcham.
Lots of quality late bloomers in this group of 24 QBs. Neal Burcham is a guy that folks are missing the boat on. Very impressive.
Best release day one at E11? Chad Voytik and Neal Burcham. Smooth, quick and fluid.

Still can't figure out what it is about that kid that is keeping him from getting offers. He has been to Arkansas multiple times and thrown so its not like the coaches haven't seen him.

He's a very interesting prospect to say the least.
Posted on 7/19/11 at 4:12 pm to Woopigsooie20
The only thing I've heard on him is that when he was at camp with Allen and the kid from Texas you could visibly tell that his arm was nowhere near as strong as their's. Tough to make a call on that because you don't know how reliable that poster is in regards to knowing anything about QB's.

Asking price is too high. He needs to lower to $50
Posted on 7/19/11 at 4:13 pm to TheCheshireHog
Yeah, he does lack arm strength. Is very accurate however.

Lack of arm strength will probably hurt him with our offense but I don't see why someone with a more compact passing game wouldn't be interested in him.
I'm sure some coach that uses Rivals to recruit will offer him after they see he went to the Elite 11.

I guess different people have different opinions of Pike. This guy said he struggled earlier but had a better day the next. Battled accuracy issues on Monday night and looks leaner than when this guy saw him last spring

* HS quarterback I was most impressed with: Zeke Pike from Dixie Heights HS in Kentucky is a moose. A big strong kid with a good arm, you can tell he has the kind of athleticism which can take over a game at times. He seems like one of those natural athletes who just happens to have grown into a huge frame and that should pay off well for him. I wouldn’t call him the most polished QB at the camp but all the natural tools are there.
* College camp counselor I was most impressed with: E.J. Manuel from Florida State. I can see why they are so excited about him in Tallahassee. He reminded me a lot of Daunte Culpepper with his frame and he combines that with a big arm and a natural presence about him that brought about instant leadership on the field with the other campers.
* Big-time QB who shocked me: When Kellen Moore from Boise State walked on the field late in the day I honestly thought he was a high school wide receiver who was going to jump into the receiver drills. My bad, didn’t realize it was one of the elite signal callers in the nation. Kudos to Kellen because he gets it done with brains and savvy, his success certainly doesn’t come because of any overwhelming physical prowess.
* Palmer update: Carson Palmer has been a fixture at these camps for as long as I can remember but he was not there today, instead we saw his brother Jordan taking part in the workout and Jordan said he has worked extremely hard to be ready for whenever fall camps open as he will likely have a shot at the Bengals starting job if his brother doesn’t come back. Jordan didn’t give anything away in terms of Carson’s plans but with the excitement in his voice and the way Jordan was talking about his upcoming opportunity it certainly didn’t sound like Carson was heading back to Cincy anytime soon.

I'm starting to wonder if we're not going to offer anymore QB's and if we get one, we get one, we don't , we don't, and wait for Austin Allen next year.

I am perfectly fine with this scenario. Kid is going to be big time. Lets just hope he doesnt go to MLB instead.

He's not that big of a MLB prospect. Maybe drafted in the later rounds.

I just hope it's Manuel being mentored by Winston. I don't want that ACC reject tutoring our future QB.

That's good to hear. Just heard bits here and there over the last two years that he was turning in to a big baseball prospect. I really hope he commits before his senior season and doesn't play the game.

Isn't this really only the 3rd season Pike has played QB? I thought I had read somewhere that he was primarily a defensive player and started playing QB three years ago. I may be a little off, but he definitely hasn't been playing QB that long, so he is definitely going to be raw.
