At this point he's even bad at the mechanics of it. Never gives down and distance. Lingers talking through a play then never tells you what the hell happened. Says vague things like "run left side, finally brought down".......and then never bothers to tell you where he got or how many yards it was.
I listened to him a lot more this year because we were at kids games, and I couldn't believe how horrid it was.

Exactly. He stays behind the play and has somehow lost that detail element. No punch when it’s needed.
You can tell the other guys try to cover for him, but it’s just too much to try and wedge into the color, especially with a hurry-up pace.

Yea it's really bad. I'd flip through other SEC/National games on Sirius and listen and he was about as bad as anybody I listened to. Others are more obnoxious or whiney, but just in terms of communicating the play on the field his may be the worst.

Actually, I'd enjoy hearing his call of the Ringo Pick 6.

“Fourth down, needing a long yard, Bryce under center, Metchie split wide.”
“The give to the back, Robinson.”
“Robinson reverses ground and makes his way around the block of Evan Neal.”
“Smith and a host of others on the tackle.”
“The ball is placed down by head referee Ken Williamson just shy of the spot where Slade Bolden now stands.”
“And Young will once again try to keep this drive alive as they move the chains for the third time, after a gain of 12 by the big man. Call it 13.”

Eli Gold’s nasally New York style makes me want to punch a baby. Annoying as hell.
He could always fake an accent like a loser

It was pretty well known and mocked that Gump Gold just sat there silently for 30 seconds, didn't call the play before he started bitching about the Aggy fans rushing the field.
I'm sure Eli didn't do that on purpose. His cohort has to constantly remind him to come back to the game while he's rambling about some unrelated event.

That was painful to watch again. too soon.
In all seriousness what was Bryce thinking on that throw? There were three defenders there around Holden. There was no way Holden was gonna get near that ball. LOL.
