This board is nothing but fricking trolls lol. Gran is solid and i would not mind the hire at all. I praised stoops for grabbing him from Cincy when he did. He obviously changed his offense up because they whipped the ball around when he had Kay

He is a good coach but his play calling has been infuriating. That may or may not be a product of coaching under Stoops.

Wasn't that like 15 years ago?

No, TT went thru 5 OCs at Auburn and Gran's name always came up as a replacement. Never happened and I am not sure why.

He'll be a plum fool to turn it down. Everything is in place, all he needs to do is orchestrate a good passing attack.

I'm sure he's a sound offensive mind, primarily his organizational skills have been vital. Installing his system he's been great. The only downsides are he's been way too conservative at UK with the passing game. Most of that is blamed on Mark Stoops wanting to grind it out and win the game on defense, but we just had one of the best tight ends in Kentucky history and I think he finished the year with like 30 catches.

The other gripe is he really doesn't take media criticism well. He gets very standoffish rather quickly.

So I think he's good and could be great but has not been amazing at UK so I wouldn't really miss him that much if he did leave.

Bonus fact:
After the Citrus Bowl Win over Penn State the security guard wouldn't let Eddie Gran onto the stage for the awards ceremony because he didn't believe Eddie Gran looked like a coach, so Eddie Gran was only in the presentation for the last 2 minutes or so. Mostly just damn Eddie, wheres yo credential.

You remember that reverse at the goal line. One receiver vs the world?

Whomever the pups hire will be the best of the best. That is just the way they roll and that is why they have so many NC rings.

Correct me if im wrong, but didnt Cincy have a top 5 or 10 passing attack when he was there. Idk how to look that up

And whats his reputation as a recruiter. Or is it dumb to ask that on a board like this lol

Im told he's well thought of in Florida, especially the Miami area where he worked for many years. He's gotten Kentucky into quite a few homes and I believe in the last 2 classes we've had more Florida commits than Ohio.

Heres his Cincy bit from his UK Coaching staff bio

He had an immediate impact at Cincinnati, guiding a record-setting offense in 2013, as the Bearcats led the American Athletic Conference in total offense (472.1) and rushing offense (168.3) with the offense totaling a school-record 6,137 yards. In 2015, those marks were eclipsed. Cincinnati ranked sixth in the nation in total offense at 537.8 yards per game, having accumulated a staggering 6,992 total yards. UC was also sixth in the nation in passing offense with 359.9 yards per game and rushed for 177.9 yards per game.

Him leaving Snell on the sideline against Texas A&M doesn’t scream ball control as much as it does lack of situational awareness in playcalling.

That was the most infuriating game to watch. Gran should've been named honorary 12th man that game

We had games this year (Alabama) where our best back was balling out and inexplicably he would disappear from the game plan. The same thing happened to our most explosive reciever as he became a complete non factor. No screens, no designed plays, nothing for our two most explosive playmakers. Some may look at Cheney’s numbers and think he did good but his complete abandonment of Swift and Mecole Hardman was deserving of being fired if you ask me.

In wonder if Eddie Gran would’ve been able to figure out how to properly use Justin Fields this year?

He would’ve taken a lot of wildcat snaps.
