Is an absolute joke.
1300 yards 5.7 a carry and 22 TDs 11 games into the season. And was snubbed as a finalist.
Boise State’s Ashton Jeanty, North Carolina’s Omarion Hampton and Iowa’s Kaleb Johnson are finalists.
I guess the Vols should have left him in to pad yardage stats more often.

UT fans always think they are snubbed.

Against terrible competition he should have better stats. I didn’t expect Sampson to win but to not be a finalist is a travesty.

What a freaking joke!!!!!! Sampson is like a bruiser version of Alvin Kamara.

Those awards are dumb. They always have been, they always will be.
I am happy for those who win them, especially Alabama players, but I will never think they are anything special.
The Heisman is probably the worst. They won't even label the damn thing right. They call it the most outstanding player, but it's really just the most hyped offensive player.
Because the most outstanding player just happens to be the player that touches the ball a lot every game? Even when a defensive player won it, it was because of other stats on returns etc.
And a ton of them were created for the sole purpose of giving ESPN time fillers for an awards show.

The only one you can really argue with is Hampton. Sampson had more TDs, Hampton had more yards from scrimmage.
Neither are winning so it doesn't really matter.

Sampson is better and will have the better NFL career. Bet.
As for the other RBs on that list.......bahahahahahaha.

More of an SEC snub than a Dylan snub, he would be better served getting another boost in EA Sports College Football 25.

The SEC needs to dominate this post season to re establish proper order.
Big Josh needs to run Sampson relentlessly in the playoffs and QB designed runs with Nico.
The only passing plays need to be play action deep shots. No more weak arse RPOs and outs to the flat.

He’s been solid all year and definitely a top back in the league.
I wonder if the “hurry up offense” hurt him. It’s undeniable that his stats are somewhat a result of gassed defenses and bad matchups from not allowing defenses to sub and prep for a run by stacking the box.

We are only going to get 3 teams in, yet have 3 teams in the final four.
We should have 3 teams getting a first round bye.

He got all of his yards against UGA in the first half basically since Heuple abandoned the run for the first time this year and Nico hasn't even really been able to run the up tempo that fast.
We haven't been lightning fast on offense since Hooker was here and won't again until Nico gets the proper experience.

Thus is actually a great comparison cuz Alvin Kamara wasn’t a finalist for the Doak either haha.

NCAA is all about politics. Could care less about their weak sauce phony awards. That's why the Heisman curse is such a thing.

Possibly....we never got dominated by Sampson. Maybe Jeanty can do it if we get them in the playoff.

He had 101 yards with only 19 carries against you and Josh mysteriously stopped running him in the second half when your defense would have been possibly gassed to rack up big yardage.
I'd say he did really well considering that. Could have easily had over 200 yards if Heuple stuck with him and the ground game.

I stand corrected ...now, my binge drinking on CFB Saturdays needs to be as well/

Agree. When Troy Smith won it over McFadden or Percy Harvin in 2006-2007, I stopped putting stock into those things.

Jeanty gonna win no doubt
Sampson could have been a finalist for sure
You have that many td’s in the sec, that’s impressive
