What people are missing is that the November cupcake means that nobody in the SEC is losing late. It's always better to lose early than it is to lose late and the SEC has benefitted from this for three decades.

Ohio State lost the last game of its season and is in the playoffs.

Also of note, the SEC team in the playoffs did not play a cupcake in November.

And Michigan was in dogfights with Illinois (you may forget the refs gave them this game on a BS PI call late), Maryland and Iowa (14 losses between them).

Individually, every opponent I listed has at least 7 losses except SMU (Who plays in a Group of 5 conference)

I’m sorry but this TCU team is just a less talented version of the Oklahoma squads that have gotten smoked in the playoffs

Just an observation on one game, but Tech physically beat the shite out of Ole Miss, outside of the the two targeting calls.

Maybe, I didn’t see the game. But if you get gifted 5 turnovers and seven 4th down attempts, 5 of which failed and you win by 17 despite being out gained by 70 yards….I don’t think being physically outmanned is the story of the game.

Poster above just validated what Dykes is saying

Nope. Spread your "cupcakes" out instead of frontloading them at the start of the season. The players need a reprieve toward the end of the season.

Excluding the 2020 Covid season, while Georgia does get credit for not playing a creampuff in November in 2022, Georgia DID play Charleston Southern in November 2021 and UMass in 2018.

So, congrats, I guess.
