What is this? A compliment? On this site? From a fan of an opposing team?

Milton is going to put up some stats this season. I'm glad that Golding is gone, because I would just assume that UT would put up 40+ again against us again this season.

What is up with this?

It’s the offseason and it’s not everyday you see a guy that can throw 70+ yards with no effort.

UF had one of the most physically gifted QB's ever last season and he sucked

Imagine if he had decent coaching and development. Hopefully he will get the coaching his gifts warrant now.

Kinesiology is an interesting aspect of sports. I guess it’s not for everyone.

Impressive distance. Will be great if he has time in the pocket and a corner falls down.

He has 2 WRs that can outrun most corners.

My son is there, Milton’s 70-80 yard bombs were the talk of the camp.

Strong-armed QBs seldom have the touch and feel to execute in the short to the intermediate range with consistency. They love to throw in tight windows and will often take more chances.

I hope this helps everyone to appreciate that touch and seeing the field is so much more important to great success.

I feel like the entire SEC is sleeping on Joe. His break out game was on a huge stage against a stout defense and really good Clemson team.

If you look at the progress that Hooker made from his Va Tech days i think it's safe to say that Milton is going to take the college football world by storm next year with Nico backing him up.

Go look at his highlights against Clemson. He threaded the needle on some missles into the end zone a few times. Legit NFL level throws. His touch abd accuracy have been gradually improving since him and Hooker debuted at Tennessee.

And he will need time in the pocket for those receivers to get the distance needed for that big arm of his.

He will also need to be accurate.

Arm strength is the most overrated attribute for college QBs.

Give me mobility, short to mid range accuracy, leadership, and IQ over any guy who can throw it 80 yards. You don’t need a guy who can launch it out of the stadium to win in college.

If the light comes on he could be great. All the tools he needs are on the roster right now with solid coaching to get him there.

On D the Vols need big help in the secondary. Pruitt recruited run stopping guys instead of cover guys and it showed. Hopefully between the last couple classes and the portal we can see some real improvement in the secondary.

If UT has quality receivers again this year they should light up the scoreboard.

We do. Obviously Hyatt and Tillman are tough to replace. However, Tennessee has Bru McCoy, Ramel Keyton, Squirrel White, and Oregon transfer Dont’e Throton as the core group this year. They should be really good. My only concern is the offensive line. On paper should be good, but new faces, so who knows.

Kinesiology

I remember watching a football game on TV back in the 90s, and they were announcing the student athlete of the game. They picked a kid who had like a 3.7 in kinesiology, and the announcer said, “Kin… kinee…. kinesee… wow, I can’t even say that word! Very impressive!”

Yeah, I guess it does sound more impressive than PE.

It’s not PE. It’s the study of human body movement. It’s the more medical side of sports/training. And it’s likely the most useful field of study in the sports world with applications in almost everything.

Need help with any aspect of improving your athletic performance? Kinesiology. Want to train and strengthen a muscle group? Kinesiology. Everything from a better golf swing to rehabbing a knee falls into kinesiology.

Pretty sure it does. Lord knows I spent years studying it.

That was the point, distance, not trying to complete a pass. He was out throwing the WR.

Yeah, I didn’t mean to make light of the field you studied - I apologize and appreciate your gracious response. As an engineer, when that announcer was making a big deal out of it like it was brain surgery or something, my initial thought was it being a “glorified PE”… but you’re right, it’s much more complex than my little quip.
