I was in NOLA last year for Mardi Gras for the first time since moving to Oregon 16 years prior. After taking in Zulu and then wandering around the Marigny, I went back to my friend's house in Metry and watched WWL's coverage of the meeting of Rex and Comus. It was amazing. Never got to see any of that pageantry on TV in Baton Rouge growing up. Really incredible. I was so glad I went back last year and my only regret was that I was only able to go for a few days and that my daughter hasn't been yet. Will try to get back down some year soon.
