You could tell from how fast he got off the snap he had a damn good idea where the play was going or he just got plain lucky. But either way, even if Downs hadn't gotten in there, the play wasn't going anywhere. The defense behind him had adjusted over. Stupid play call. You're damn near on the goal line, run the ball between the tackles three times. If you can't get in by doing that you don't belong there to begin with.

it comes down to sark and what he's learned the last 3 years. If he does a better job with arch than he did quinn we'll be fine. Still worry about the play calling but one solution at a time. Arch has the wheels to turn a broken play into something positive. Quinn rarely had that.

Golden best WR gone.

Blue best Receiving RB threat gone.

Texas going to be a running team next year.

Looking forward to more of those pitch plays.

He read and reacted very well, that's why he's considered the best safety in college football.

A missed block by Banks and Golden were what would have stopped it.

Bill B ran the same play on second and goal in the Superbowl, and scored. It's funny when you have computer screen offensive coordination trying to say what wasn't a good call.

Again, 2 blocks and Downs being a tick slower and its a touchdown. Had he scored, you wouldn't have said anything about it being a "bad" call, it's just because it wasn't executed properly.

If 'ifs" and "buts" were candy and nuts we'd all have a Merry Christmas.

Or how we say it in the trailer parks of Alabama, "If my aunt had nuts she'd be my uncle".

ROW TIDE!!!

Texas replaced their top 4 pass catchers last year after they all went pro. Golden was a portal transfer. Texas actually returns more receiving production than they did last year (Moore and Wingo).

Blue was our third string RB. We get back Baxter (Saban already called him the best RB in the SEC), Wisner and Gibson. We'll be just fine.

Texas is going to run in between the tackles and drop bombs over your head when you start to walk your defenders up. Typical Sark offense.

You'll see a couple, but Texas will run much more between the tackles now that they'll have a healthy RB room.

We're talking college not NFL, champ.

The OP didn't understand why Manning has so much hype. I explained to him why he has the hype. I never said he wouldn't be a bust, signs just point to him being pretty dang good.

Yeah, as you can guess I’m not a Tx fan, but he’s going to be a good one.

Walker Howard typo and he is from Louisiana. His father was a quarterback at LSU and he was better than Manning in high school. I meant to say Walker not Will

[quote]Manning wasn’t even the best QB coming out of Louisiana in his class[/quote

Totally agree. Since he was a Louisiana kid, I made an extra effort to catch him when he was on tv and I was able to catch 3 or 4 games. I kept watching expecting something incredible to happen, but it never happened.

You remove Manning from the back of his jersey and he looked like every other average HS QB around the country. The only thing I can figure is grandpa and the uncles were pumping serious money into these recruiting sites because there was no way he was the top player in the country. I don't even know if he was among the top 1,000 players in the country!

I'm not saying he won't be a great college QB, but based on his performance in HS and college up to this point, Texas fans are in for a huge disappointment when he starts next season!

I guess it's true that the most popular player on the football team is always the backup QB, especially when your last name is Manning.

I think you just answered your own question.
