"Don't get the LSU fans pulling for Michigan"
I don't get why people pull for a team just because they are in the conference. Any other team in the conference outside of LSU winning does nothing for me.
So a Bama loss doesn't help LSU in any way, how does a Bama win help LSU? I bet you were pulling for Bama against Penn State last year too thinking a PSU win would hurt LSU. Had PSU beat Bama last year, would the season of been different?
I don't often pull for SEC teams outside of conference unless it is late in the season and may help LSU. Otherwise, starting from the beginning, LSU controls it's own destiny and that is what matters.

Just like last year huh? We beat them at bama and still didn't matter did it? frick bama the more losses the better.
Tigerbait2008....Why the hell you worried about where Bama ends up? Just beat whoever you play (whether is OK State or Bama)and all is solved.

Yep. I just can't pull for Bama no matter the scenario. And it has nothing to do with Saban - I've always just hated them.

Yes, it would have. Bama would not have been in the NC game, and LSU would have won the NC after crushing Okie State.
Always pull against Bama!

LSU fans who pull for Michigan are idiots.
NEVER root for an SEC team in OOC play. It's not rocket science.
I hate Alabama as much as any LSU fan but I would never root against them in OOC play.

Exactly my point! That is why I don't get people just assuming an SEC team winning an OOC game automatically helps LSU.
There are a few SEC teams I don't mind, but when it comes to Bama, Arky, Auburn, I certainly wouldn't mind them losing every game.

You don't hate them as much as any LSU fan if you find yourself cheering for them. With LSU at #1/#3 in the polls, I can't think of one reason Bama beating Michigan helps LSU, and that is all I am concerned with.
I dislike Auburn as much as Bama, and therefore was pulling for Oregon in the NC. I get zero satisfaction in seeing Auburn win the Championship.

Because a mediocre Michigan team beating arguably the best team in the SEC would harm the SEC's image as the undisputed best conference in football.
You know what the media can do to public perception in this current 24/7 world we live in.
As recently as a few years ago we had arguments for keeping SEC teams out of the BCSNC game. I do not want to return to those bleak, awful days.

Ok...i get it now. You are just afraid to play the best. You want the easy pussy way out. Why not just play Bowling Green for the BCS?

Agree to disagree on this subject.
I just don't think a BCS bowl winner from last year beating Bama in the kickoff classic is going to harm the long term image of the SEC.

Not the easy way, which wasn't my point at all. Had PSU beat Bama OOC, then LSU's win would of buried Bama and made that regular season game more important for LSU, which is the only side I look at things from.
Not easy to beat a great team twice, it's not like Bama could do it last year either.
