Texas will take care of this issue when they join and rework the conference power hierarchy.

Let me be clear, it was not a dirty play, in the late 60's 1970's films about Dick Butkus were made celebrating these types of hits. With LT in the 80's same thing.

Even 15 years ago when LaRon Landry blew up JP Wilson of Bama, LSU fans were celebrating that type of hit. But under the current rules, I think it was targeting but not an intentional dirty play. it was a football play.

Now as to why the SEC refs did not call it, well that is just baked into the cake when you play them over there. Just accept it and move on.

And No JD getting out of the game did not cost LSU the win before Forest comes in with any trolls.

They called roughing the passer without targeting. so lets be clear on what they called. Any shot to the head by definition is targeting and he hit him under the chin with the crown of the head. Had he hit him with the pads on the chest area, then it would be 100% roughing without targeting.

Targeting is done by league officials in booth, it was never reviewed which is has to be by rule on any questionable hit that takes out a player

Under the current rules, that play by Landry would be targeting, in my view. Under the rules then, perfectly acceptable and celebrated football play which was the way the game was forever till the last 10 years or so when targeting rules were enforced in college ball.

Let me be clear, I think it was targeting. I don't think it was an intentional dirty play. it was a football play that before 10 years ago, if an LSU player did it to the Bama QB we would be celebrating the hit (i.e Landry hit on JP Wilson back in 2006).

I think if you look at the replay of the hit 15 for Bama turned as they were falling to the ground and didn’t land with his full force and drive the QBs head into the ground. That’s why the he targeting was not called.
