Now that was a good one
For a man that weighed 5 lbs. less than Fournette and ran almost half a second faster in the 100 to compare speed is just stupid... I unfortunately did not get to see him in person too young but when your father a sports writer and former AP voter who covered him while at UGA says they don't even compare in this century when it comes to speed probably knows more than you dipshit.
Forum guru vs. former AP voter I take the credentials of the second any day. Just because you got to watch a guy play doesn't mean your an expert. Besides when you make the comment he didn't need to be faster he ran over people tells me you didn't watch him either because some of his greatest runs that are now highlights shows how he gets to the edge and just destroys the pursuit angles that were taken by multiple defensive backs.

If you look closely you will see one of his best runs that's 4 guys who all thought they had the angle on him and he ended up blowing by them. He didn't need to run over them he ran by people too. You sure you watched him play?

again, this is all beside the point. the point is that fournette is looking like he might break out this season. if so, he might cement the rep that's been building.

A better career than HW? My god, the derp is strong with you.
Posted on 9/21/15 at 11:37 am to Porter Osborne Jr
so you don't think there's a chance? at all? you people have gotten so unreasonable about this.

You realize LF would have to win multiple NCs, take his team to win the SECC every year, win multiple Heismans, and rush for 2500 each of the next two years, but hey, anything is possible.

While you'd have to be dumb to not realize that Fournette had an incredible performance Saturday. You'd also have to be an idiot to not realize that Chubb has CONSISTENTLY been better than Fournette in their respective careers.
And when you keep going down the list it doesn't even get close. Georgia has two running backs better statistically then Williams or Guice. Which while we are on Guice, besides spin moves on a vine what has he actually done in a game??? The answer is nothing, and what has Williams done besides being at best average. Quit being homers and look at what you're guys have actually produced.
After one performance against an Auburn team that most everyone would agree has a horrible run defense everyone know thinks he is the second coming. Perrine, Chubb, and Elliot all had better freshman season and have all already had the type of performance that Fournette had on Saturday.
Fournette is great and on his way to stardom, but the answer to this question from the OP is obviously yes and if anyone were to challenge them for it, it would be Alabama with Drake and Henry.
Darrel Williams better than Sony Michel or Kenyan Drake is laughable...
This debate makes no sense to start off! Half of you are arguing "stats" while the other half are arguing "skill"......
I'd say at this point it is a wash.....
Henry/Drake = a sick combination of power & speed
LF/Williams/Guice/Brossette/Ducre = a beastly & dynamic group of monsters
Chubb/Michel/Marshall = about as deadly of a trio as you will find
I wouldn't have a problem with any of those guys. The LSU guys after LF & Williams are "Freshmen" so of course you haven't heard of them (duh!!!).....
And let's not forget, stats for some of these guys include FCS opponents!

Guice will be a superstar, book it

Georgia's tandem is the best.
By the numbers, the other tandems worth talking about are:
Henry/Drake (Alabama)
Hurd/Kamara (Tennessee)
Williams/Kemp (Kentucky)

Once again, are you referring to "stats"? Let's be clear here on what "best" is defined as......

These comparisons are stupid. I know that I am pleased that after two SEC games to start the season that LSU has the following:
Fournette 8.2 ypc
Harris 8.8 ypc
Guice 9.2 ypc
and two WRs averaging 7 ypc (Dural) and 14 ypc (Jackson).

LSU has the best 4 kickers in the conference. Hands down. No question. What do we win?

fournette ran a 10.68 100m so, yes, he does have the same speed herschel had. fournette is slightly heavier than herschel from what i have read.
Fournette is an absolute freak, no doubt about it. But then where does Chubb match up?
2013 Sparq Combine stats:
Chubb: 40yd: 4.47
Shuttle: 4.12
Powerball: 43
Vert: 40.8
Fournette: 40yd: dnp
Shuttle: 4.3
Powerball: 38.5
Vert: 29.9
BTW, Chubb ran a 10.69 100m in high school

Well, since you're a fan of an opposing team, clearly you're going to pick a different set of standards that shows the rbs on your team are better. Just like we'll do

So rather than the usual Chubb vs. Fournette peter measuring contest, this thread has turned into a Walker vs. Fournette peter measuring contest?
At least it's something new, I guess.

the fastest time i have read for herschel was 10.23 and that is NOT "world class speed.
Wanna know how I know you're a dipshit? I just looked it up and that would have won the 1980 Olympics. But yeah, he didn't have world class speed

and i said that fournette is heavier than herschel but no uga fans want to take that into account. A whole 5 pounds.
I can't find Walker's sophomore weight listed, but his college playing weight on Wikipedia is listed at 216, which is 14 pounds lighter, not 5.
I wish instead of making stupid threads such as this one, we could all sit back and enjoy the coming of the next great SEC back in Fournette. I'm an LSU fan, but when Gurley was on TV, you better believe I'd stop and watch, or McFadden at Arkansas, same thing. I just love watching great players play.

And I wish LSU fans would watch a UGA game so they could see how great Chubb is.

Not the part where the LSU fan said Herschel Walker didn't have world class speed despite it being proven he would have won the Olympics in 1980 with his time?
