That is a little bit of a misguided statement. The reason we've been bad is due to awful defense, lack of conditioning, and lack of discipline/fundamentals. Yes, I totally understand every one of those ultimately falls on the head coach. But each one of those areas has been/is being addressed, and things should start to turn around pretty quick, especially with this top 5 class. This is still the same head coach that won the east 3 times in 4 years. He didn't just forget what to do.

Where have I heard that exact paragraph almost word for word before?

Oh yeah.

barring a complete disaster next season UGA would be stupid to fire Richt.

Then where does the line get drawn? At what point will enough be enough? We went 8-5 in 2009 and had a losing season last year. If we go 8-4 again next year why keep him? That would be 3 straight years of extreme underachievement (and you could argue 4, seeing as how high expectations were for 2008). If we don't win the east next year I think we should explore other options.

The main difference of course being that that fat piece of shite didn't run a clean program, hell fire man he had an award for misbehaving players named after him.

You forgot to add: when the SEC was down.

a program like Georgia shouldn't have to hire a guy with no head coaching experience.

You mean like Richt?

ANd I don't think you'd find a better option. It's not like Richt is Houston Nutt at Arkansaas where almost anyone is a better option. Or hell, I guess you could hire Houston?

Do you think Georgia can get a better coach than florida?

How so? LSU was pretty damn strong during that era. Auburn had some really solid teams. Florida was pretty good. Bama had some strong teams.

You can look at the SEC in any given year and point to teams who are struggling, does that make every year a down year?

No...he was pretty good when he was young and hungry.

Now he's fat and happy.

The east was pretty mediocre in those seasons...as was most of the west.

This really isn't up for debate.

Do I think Georgia, an obvious top 10 coaching job in the country, could get a proven head coach that actually has head coaching experience?

Yes, why not?

My point is that Georgia is not a better job than Florida, so you won't be able to get a better head coach than them

I want you to stop and think for a minute about what you just wrote. I hope you realize how mind numbingly stupid that statement is, but sadly I'm guessing you might not.

At this point I think that Richt is treading water a mile from shore. There is a slim chance he survives but it would be a miracle.

Here is what he needs to do in order to keep his job past two more years:
1. Restore some fricking order to the football program. not sure how but possibly just getting rid of trouble makers is a start.

2. Win the East either this year or the year after, I think if he doesn't then he will be gone. I say this because a 3 loss team will have very good shots at winning the East for the next couple years, if he doesn't win it then it means he has 4 or 5 losses and I just don't think the fans will keep him with that.
