Does Lane still have a hand on the wheel?

I get the optics around “not letting Lane coach Ole Miss in the CFP.” Just not sure I buy the idea that he’s completely hands-off—and the Ole Miss and LSU PTB aren't fine with it.
To me, the benefits for everyone outweigh the risks if Ole Miss wins out.
* Ole Miss' reputation sky rockets as a destination job
* Lane gets more money if Ole Miss wins out
* Lane's reputation benefits
* LSU hired a championship coach – better recruits follow
* CPG and the left-behind coaches all get a reputation bump
The “no coaching” rule might matter publicly, but incentives say the help could still be flowing.

Just sit back and enjoy the show, girl.
After you’ve tended to the livestock of course.
Now get.

Interesting outside-of-the-box theory but my guess would be not only a “no” but a “hell no”.

Dude literally just netted a 5* DE about an hour ago. Also, hosted another 5* DE portal transfer from Penn St. Locked in on a former 5* OL. etc...
The only players affected by OM winning or losing are the OM players that will come to LSU in the portal.

I remember national title-winning head coaches making light references to advice they got leading up to NC games.
So now you’ve got Pete Golding. First-time head coach. Second round of the CFP. If I’m him, I’m getting input. Who do you call? And why wouldn’t you call Lane?
Then CPG goes out and beats a decent Georgia team. Yeah, Georgia was down. Still Georgia. So… I can’t help but wonder.

You think Lane wants to hear about National championship winning head coach Pete Golding and never been to the college playoff lane kiffin? Kiffin would sacrifice the money not to have that be a reality.

Lane Train finna be stupidly motivated and supported while his scorned ex focuses solely on spinning him out.
Good luck with that.

Rebs aren’t winning shite. Sorry to burst your bubble. But not happening.

If Pete needs advice I’d think he takes out his cellphone and Facetimes Nick Saban….

Why do you think so many of the OM fans here are working hard to convince themselves and us that Golding is a better coach?
Deep down they know this team will be remembered as Kiffin’s and there’s zero they can do about that to alter public perception.
You can hate Kiffin all you want. You can question his integrity or call him a whore, but at the end of the day anyone without an ax to grind knows who built that team.
