Does Nix fit into this guy’s system?

Quite the opposite I think.

Brett Rypien and Hank Bachmeier are decent comparisons to Nix. At first glance, I don't see why Nix wouldn't be a good fit for his system.

I am not sure. Nix has some mechanics flaws that are in dire need of fixing. Harsin runs a more pro-style O. Hopefully Bo will get somebody to work with him over the summer.

Are they retaining Morris? That would be incredibly stupid.

Nix will be fine. I think Harsin will get more out of him than Gus's clown show of QB development.

Harsin’s system has a lot of similarity to Drink’s system.

No it doesn't.

Harsin is from the Petersen tree. It is a pro style O.

Drink is from the Gus system. It is not a pro style O.

You realize Drink was Harsin’s co-OC at Arkansas State right?

Correct also at Boise, and our WR/QB coach (not technically our OC but had a lot of input in our current offense) was the Co OC/QB coach under Petersen.

It’s not exactly the same but there are a lot of similarities as I said

He was at Arky St. with Harsin for 1 year. He was at Boise for 2 years

Drink played QB for Gus in HS. He got his coaching career started under Gus. He spent 3 years at Auburn with Gus and 1 year at Arky St. under Gus. If you watched Drink's O, it looks a hell of a lot like Gus' O.

ETA Harsin's O doesn't look anything like Gus'. I have seen it compared more to what bama is doing.

Lol

Anyway, if you watched any football outside of Auburn you would know I was correct. Drink was the OC for Harsin at two different stops and our defacto OC is well versed in the Petersen system and was a QB at Boise under Petersen.

What we run is much more similar to that style than what Gus ran, although there is some influence obviously.

I’m not sure why this has you all bent out of shape. Drink is a damn fine offensive coach.

Not likely going to be the end of Nix. Think about how heavy the boosters’ influence is at Auburn. Bo Nix is their guy, as has been evident since the day he got on campus. Fortunately, the incoming coaching staff will get a pass the first two seasons, so don’t expect a change at QB1. Coincidentally, that was a decision that I believe had a domino effect on Gus clock running out of time on The Plains.

well, that and the fact we don't have another QB on the roster. The few who would compete with Bo for the starting job transferred.
