interesting, would like to know why he chose Knoxville over Clemson, Cola, and other out of state schools. maybe he just wasn't recruited by Clemson or SC.

Patterson was a JUCO when he went to UT. I don't think he got a lot of interest coming out of high school because of his grades

Yeah, had trouble with grades out of high school. Was the top JUCO player in his class though. Came down to UT, UGA and bama. Dooley must have pulled some shady shite, cause we all know Dooley was a joke.

Not hard to figure out why he chose UT over Clemson or the Coots.

Hell, we got John Chavis out of Dillon

Ok, so what was the reason? lol obviously most SC kids are not going to UT.
Sounds like the reason was poor grades.
It would be interesting to see the percentage of football players from each state at each university over the decades.

TN has pretty tough SEC schedule this year including at AL, Missouri, KY, and Florida.
UGA has AL, SC, Missouri at home and obviously play Florida on neutral field. Auburn on road might be toughest test but unless Auburn is lot better on defense Chubbs should have big day rushing. Given UGA should have the most talent on paper, hard to think they won't win the East.
SC also has tough SEC schedule this year and I foresee them having a early OOC lost to a talented UNC team on offense bringing back most of its players from last year.

It's mostly been Tennessee fans fighting with this one Clemson fan.
Posted on 3/21/15 at 11:06 am to CNB
They the ones disrespecting your program but you see me as the problem.
It some ways SC fans should hate TN more than Clemson cuz you guys would have been in SEC title game two seasons ago if UT had not beat you. And who knows if you beat Auburn, you might have been in national title game.
it does seem like Orange Crush is likely back for SC, likely to lose at least 2 out of 3 against Clemson, Florida, Tenn in the coming years. You'll basically have to be close to perfect against the remaing schedule to have good season

It's time for Spurrier to retire. He knows it. SC fans know it. And recruits know it. SC needs a new young coach with a lot of energy to come in and revitalize their program. SC finished a mediocre #19 on the 247 composite recruiting rankings for 2015 and aren't looking any better for 2016.

back in the 90s I would have never thought SC being ranked 19th in recruiting would be seen as a disappointing haul for them. lol they probably weren't even in top 100 every year back then

O Jesus you moving on to dawg fans. Wow you realy are asking for it.
Posted on 3/21/15 at 11:20 am to Dawghorn
what have I said that would upset Dawg fans? I predicted you would win the SEC east and said you have most talent on paper.
I probably upset you b/c you are irrational. I don't think you, and some of the TN and Auburn fans ever watch football, given some of the gems you put forth last night, such as Clemson copies Auburn offense, despite Auburn being run based and Clemson pass based in recent years. lol
then you start whining about us stealing their team colors and mascot the unoriginal Tiger, despite our main color being orange and theirs being navy blue, and navy blue isn't even a secondary color for clemson. so purple is copying navy blue now. lol
you guys must be color blind in addition to irrational
given auburn has like 3 other mascots and we don't use those it doesn't seem likely too much copying went on. it kind of hard not to copy them given they try to use every unoriginal mascot idea, unless we want to go with something perverted like Cocks. Clemson tries to keep our football culture rated G, understanding kids go to the games.

This is probably the gayest thing that I ever heard of. How did AUburn even come up with this war eagle thing. lol I never laughed so hard. This def. makes Clemson's howard rock thing seem much less hokey in comparison
Legend has it that football and “War Eagle” came to Auburn the same day, Feb. 20, 1892, when Auburn defeated Georgia 10-0 at Atlanta's Piedmont Park in the first real college football game played in the South. According to the legend, an Auburn student, fighting at the Civil War’s Battle of the Wilderness in Virginia, was left for dead in no-man's land, that stretch of earth between the two armies that belonged to neither friend nor foe. After the battle, all that was left alive there was the Auburn student and a baby eagle. With the eaglet in his pocket, the wounded soldier eventually made his way back home. He later returned to Auburn and resumed his education, nurturing the eagle back to health and maturity.
The man later joined Auburn’s faculty and when the train departed for Atlanta that fateful day, the instructor and the eagle, known to all Auburn people as “War Eagle” because of the circumstances which brought the man and eagle together, were on the train. As the game began, the eagle took to flight and began to circle the field. Looking skyward, the Auburn faithful began to call his name “War Eagle.” As the eagle continued to fly up and down the field, he was seemingly watching over his Auburn Tiger team, and supporting their efforts in his only way possible. Soon the crowd began to chant and then shout his name in unison..."War Eagle!"
At the end of the game, the old eagle, now almost 30 years old, collapsed and died on the playing field. Having given his all for his team and boosting Auburn to victory in the process, the events of that day soon grew into legend and the name “War Eagle,” as was voiced that day, has since been repeated as an inspriational battle cry whenever Auburn teams compete on the field of play. Auburn University and college football have never been the same since

Clemson obviously doesn't JUST copy Auburn, they copy LSU too.
Clemson stole Death Valley and their purple color to match the Orange they got from Auburn.
But seriously. Clemson plays in a chickenshit conference against chickenshit teams (except for FSU and maybe a couple others that rotate between being actually good), and always have chickenshit losses that make no sense. Y'all are a verb. Clemsoning.

given Clemson been lot better than Tenn over past 10 years, plus had a convincing bowl win over Tenn in 2004 that spelled end of Fulmer and Tenn's good run, ya'll hardly program to talk trash about Clemson.
ACC features FSU, G Tech, Miami, Va Tech along with Clemson, that is good a set of programs over the decades as any group in SEC or other conferences. NC State with Rivers, UVA with Matt Schuabe, BC with Matt Ryan, and Maryland were all excellent teams a few years back. UNC had excellent teams when Mack Brown and Julius Peppers were there.
given how bad SEC east has been u hardly have room to talk trash about ACC. Tenn, KY, Arky all been dumpster fires in recent years, about 5 wins b/t them in several seasons.
our uniforms look nothing like LSU's. lol how can they have a Death valley, they are on a bayou, we are in the mountains. Valley makes more sense for us and it was a coach at Presbyertian college who came up with Death Valley nickname for us.
like I just said, our secondary color is purple, auburn's primary color is navy blue. purple is not navy blue for the color blind on here. lol
the only SEC school we ever copied was Miss State, Dr. Thomas Clemson wanted Clemson to be modeled after Miss State, which was the most prestigious research institution in the nation at the time.
