I know
They'll still take place just not forced. Teams need to rotate through each other equally.

Playing Oklahoma in Dallas is a non-negotiable period.

Y’all overreact too much. How many times in the last 100 years has Michigan, Oklahoma, and Florida been down at the same time? It’s not something that’s going to be normal going forward.

Take for instance, LSU has a permanent rivalry with Florida. LSU didn't necessarily want to play Florida every year. LSU was told who they would get......Besides that, why should some teams be forced to play a generally harder team when a Mississippi State gets Kentucky. Everyone rotating through all teams is the only fair way to do it.

Yeah, everyone has their shitty systems because they don't know when to leave shite alone.

That's why we got this stupid 12 team playoff right now and a transfer portal that's fricking up the sport.

Bama fan ... Checks out.

this is mathematically perfect as you will play every other tema in the conference both home AND away within a 4 year time period, PLUS it preserves all the historical long standing SEC rivalries. There truly is no downside to it.

Which means that somehow the powers that be will frick it up.

So, let’s give LSU a perm game with Vandy.

Is that fair to either of them?

Perms were set up based on strength of teams.

I was taking your comment of “being down” as in geography/travel sense…not performance sense?

Also why it didn’t seem to go with the “games at school stadium” statement.

You know the 4H/5A & 4A/5H will factor into this.

Hince why we need an even # of conf. games.

All sort of issues with deciding who should play who. Plus strength of teams changes from year to year. Everyone rotating through everyone is only fair way.

I don’t know that it needs to come back, but they at least should have done a better job balancing the schedules for this season and next. It’s not like they were set 10 years ago when no one could have known how good each team would be.

Could this be achieved with rotating four team pods split into two divisions?

Honestly, you think LSU & Vandy are equal in strength AT ANY TIME since perms were created?

Pretty much, but would take 6 years.
Y1 - AB winner vrs. CD winner
Y2 - AC winner vrs. BD winner
Y3 - AD winner vrs. BC winner
Y4 - Y1 sites flipped
Y5 - Y2 sites flipped
Y6 - Y3 sites flipped

Either way, you’ld have to keep perm games between teams in diff. pods because there’s NO WAY to have pods & keep them.

ex.: Miss. - MSU - Ala. - Aub. - UGA - UF

or

Vandy - Tn. - Ala. - Aub. - UGA - UF

Each of those are 5 games to be kept each year, but how do you format pods around them?
