I think Tennessee will fire him with a loss after Gtech like lsu did with miles. Unlike LSU I think there's a much better market this year with new coaches

They won't fire him mid season. But I do think he'll get the boot after another lackluster season.

think he's probably safe with 8 wins. Probably.

As long as he gets the team to a bowl game his job is safe.

No, but someone will probably throw a brick at him.

Only LSU is stupid enough to fire a HC midseason for anything less than a full blown scandal.
And then get stuck with Ed Orgeron
And then get stuck with Ed Orgeron

No, but they will fire him after a loss to Indiana State 5 days after the GT game, because they were looking past the Larry Birds to the next game with Florida....

I think it would take 6+ losses to get him fired. Lose to Vandy again or Kentucky and that number could get lower, but Butch's seat is only warm right now.

First, and probably last, time I've agreed with BJ on a post.

I don't know about his buyout but at 8 wins I feel like he could get the axe. At the very least his seat is on fire in 2018.

How many wins to receive the Champions of Life award?

Tech was 9-4 last year with quality wins in a strong ACC, why do people act like they are Southern Miss or Samford?

How do Tennessee fans feel if he goes 7-5 but one of the seven is a hard fought win over Bama?

If he loses to USCe and Vandy again he needs to go.

I think tech will beat UT, GT returns a good bit of guys and the vols are going to have a though time with the option. I see Tennessee wining if tech's new QB screws up the option. Vols do have a good record vs noncon games though.

If he loses to G-Tech he will already be gone in a lot of fans minds.

Then he will be there forever. It is almost impossible for a SEC team to not go to a bowl game........and thus that is the problem.

They only strong ACC team they beat was VT.Miami,
UNC and Clemson beat em by a minimum of 2 TD's.
They were also a train wreck the year before.
I think UT can control the game with their O-line and
If they avoid turnovers they win by 2 TD's

Firing a coach midseason is the best way to get ahead of the coaching search. Would have been great had LSU actually done a coaching search
