since there are prob more Bama fans on here now than last night, can yall explain WTF this was last night? Is this guy at every game? How long has this been going on?

It has been going on for many years. No one likes it. ESPN just happened to have one of those sound recording dishes next to the cheerleaders last night.

I wondered what the hell was going on. I figured ESPN had a mic too close or something but that was hideous
now we'll just get to hear danielson do it from the booth in two weeks
I thought he was awfully quite in the 4th yesterday, other than making excuses for Aubie.....and I normally don't feel that way about him but he did say shite about LSU yesterday IMO

Some years the guy on the mic isn't as noticable, and people overlook it. I've only been to one home game this year, but I never even heard the guy. ESPN having sound recording equipment that close just highlighted it.

The only time i've heard our cheerleaders all year are when they are on the field before the game.

I personally am not trying to troll or say its "gay", I am stating that it just seems very very highschool/JV football and I would expect more from a program as big as Alabama
the dude was doing the "Defense! *clap clap* Defense! *clap clap*" and "Here we go Bama, here we go! *clap clap" and it sounded like it was being played through the loudspeakers in BDS...all he was missing was "Two bits, four bits"
LSU has nothing comparable to this...what other schools have a cheerleader with a mic
ETA: and my point is why dont the fans say you dont want this bush leage stupid crap that is more embarrassing than anything...is he supposed to be "pumping the crowd up" or something, what is his purpose?

Nobody in the stands has a microphone. If you weren't hearing a cheerleader, then ESPN just had a microphone way too close to someone in the stands.

Yeah, he's at every game in front of the student section; they give him a microphone too. I've never met anyone who likes it or actually participates in those stupid cheers. Sorry you had to hear it

No it was not in the stands...I'm just saying it wasn't just a microphone too close to a normal cheerleader doing normal cheers
This is a cheerleader who is either mic'd up or is holding a microphone and it plays through the speakers at BDS
