Does anyone else think the Big 10 is about school Sankey again? This time with the CFP

When they meet to discuss the format of the CFP and the expansion of it, I expect the Big 10 to get everything it wants, and I expect the SEC and Sankey to get schooled and have to make concessions.
Sankey is a terrible negotiator, and has the Big 10 has made him their bitch on a regular basis. The SEC has declined relative to the Big 10 under Sankey.

What does the Big 10 want that is counter to the SEC's interests? A 24 team playoff? That would dilute the quality of the first round games, but not really a deal breaker in my opinion.

Can you provide some details of what you think the Big 10 will want (and get) that will be a concession by Sankey / SEC as it relates to the CFP?

Right now ESPN (SEC) has all playoff games, if it goes above 16 I believe, then it’ll cause a renegotiation on TV rights which will allow FOX (Big10) to get a slice of the pie

Thanks for the information. Let's say this is right...I still don't see how that is an automatic loss for the SEC. The SEC gets a amount for being part of the play off. They get additional pay outs shared with the teams involved when a SEC member is selected to the CFP. The SEC does not lose money necessarily just because the field is expanded and now FOX probably will broadcast some games.

I'm more worried about it diluting the quality of the regular season.
You'd have 8-4 teams getting into the playoffs after winning 1 or 2 games against ranked teams all season and just beating up on their conference's bottom feeders and the FCS / G5 non-conference teams on their schedule. Regular season becomes far less interesting with that.
The only way they could even maintain some semblance of regular season games still being meaningful for higher ranked teams is if all of the playoff rounds until the national title game are played on campus of the higher ranked team. No more bowl games hosting CFP games.

It’s really an incredibly stupid idea.
Football is not basketball. Fatigue / wear and tear / injury risk is much more relevant… you will have opt outs galore & the postseason is already so long as it is that staff turnover and portal windows are already a complete clusterfrick.
I fully expect them to do it, because we are talking about the dumbest most self-sabotaging league in all of sport (NCAA).
But make no mistake, it is really fricking dumb.
