I don't know if you are being sarcastic but the 90s was a MUCH better era for college basketball than now. Take the early 90s for example. Alabama had Robert Horry, Latrell Sprewell, James "Hollywood" Robinson, and David Benoit. LSU had Shaq, Chris Jackson, and Stanley Roberts. Arkansas had Todd Day, Lee Mayberry, and the stud post player. Tennessee had Alan Houston. Auburn had Wesley Person and so on and so on. The point is that there were NBA players all over the court. I only mentioned a few SEC schools. It was like that all over the country though. The depth of star power today is nowhere near what it was then.

Too many games, not enough meaning in any one of them. Last time I cared about a basketball game was when the men beat duke and the women were playing in the final four every year, and even then I only watched the biggest games.

"Short and sweet." "Too much of anything can be bad for you." These sayings aren't pulled from people's asses, they're told because they are true.

i am happy for you if you enjoy the game. I don't care for it as much anymore.

both the nba and college game have fallen out of favor with me. I believe both were better 20 years ago. I believe the primary reason a fan like myself enjoyed it more was because I got to know the players as amateurs in college and had a familiarity with them when they were drafted. Today's draft consists of a handful of players that the NBA would have drafted straight out of high school given the opportunity (some in 10th grade probably), half foreigners I have never heard before, and a very few college jr/srs.

Don't expect ANYONE outside of the South to understand the love for college baseball!

Really only two conferences are worth a damn and the Big Ten isn't even close.

Meh, your loss.

That's nostalgia talking, not fact. Especially when it comes to the NBA.

Why does this matter? If you're a fan of basketball, you're a fan of those who play it best, regardless of their country of origin.

Ancient Aliens > College bball

Also I don't like the NBA till playoff time and they last way too long, stretched out over too long a period of time.

I usually like the NFL playoffs not regular season games too much but last weekend was the biggest pile of shite of playoffs I've ever seen from the NFL.

I prefer NCAA to NBA, but basketball rarely holds my interest until the final 4. The NBA has the worst playoff system ever. Half the teams get in and the play offs drag on and on into the summer. Boring.

I hate how much of an influence on the game terrible referees have. Also hate the lack of consistency between crews.

The teams have to do their part to win, and people would argue refs don't give games away. I think the kids and fans deserve better though

And also our terrible coach that allows an awful one on one style of basketball to be played doesn't help.

I played on an AAU team in Memphis when I lived in Nashville

I won't say which because a quick google search would be easy to find the only white boy name on the team

we were cold though. I was like 8th off the bench and still got a scholarship

eta to clarify, I'd stay in Memphis some with friends during AAU season

I love CBB but I think it's more of holding on to what was than what it is currently

CBB was incredible in the 80's thru mid 90's, just a great enjoyable representation of your university

now, not so much. Just doesn't have the same level of players

but frankly they couldn't pay me to watch the NBA right now

FWIW I agree with this to an extent

dude, the CBB players these days are the best they've ever been. The amount of talent is ridiculous.

There is a certain type of person that HATES basketball and will look for any reason to not watch it or care. No one has to like it, no one has to care, but don't make up bullshite reasons that aren't even true.

I feel like I do a pretty good job of keeping up with UGA's team and watching UGA games on the tube, but I don't actually go to the games nearly as much as I should given that I live about 3 miles away. I usually only make it to 2 or 3 a year.

With that said, I give much less of a shite about it than football and it isn't comparable. I could tell you the majority of starters on most teams in the SEC football wise and know a ton about what's' going on across the rest of the country. I couldn't even name you 1 player from every SEC basketball team right now and I NEVER watch non-SEC regular season college basketball.

Going to games, especially when we're decent, is really more fun (well, as for being a spectator as the game itself, not the atmosphere/tailgating/bar scene after) and much less of a hassle/burden than going to a football game, but I think my commitment to the basketball program probably matches our athletic department's commitment to the basketball program.
