Does a loss to Tennessee this week cost Barry Odom his job?

His buyout is less than 2 million and he would finish 6-6 (if they beat Arkansas next week) in a season that Mizzou was the favorite in 10 out of 12 games. He is a Mizzou grad, so that may likely get him some leverage.

dont think so, but who knows. To me, it would have to be both losses.

He'll likely either have a winning record, or .500 at the end of this season and at the age of 42. So theres a few things to consider.

Yep, I thought they were really going to challenge for the East this year the way their schedule was set up. I really think Derek Dooley is the problem moreso than Odom, but he is the one who hired him.

Man that is crazy because he was on the hot seat last year and had a great finish to the reg season. This is why you become the coach at Missouri or Iowa rather than FSU or Florida, because you will last a lot longer if you aren't great. Of course you won't make as much unless you have Kirk Ferentz' agent.

He has been a large part of the problem, but whats bizarre is how quickly things changed. Mizzous offense went from actually pretty good, to one of the worst in all of football in one week. I know Bryant has been playing injured since vandy, but a 50% Bryant should have beaten vandy and UK, and if he was worse off than 50% playing him is also a fire-able offense.

and its not all on Bryant. Our WR's and Oline have been awful. Knox, albert O, and Scott all share one thing in common, they are 1,2,3 in dropped balls in the SEC. And the oline cant do anything for the run game.

Tennessee is playing much better football right now. I would not be surprised to see them beat Mizzou by more than a TD.

No, but a loss to Arkansas might.

I think Mizzou's biggest problem is talent. They have a few diamond in the rough players like they always do, but they've consistently been #12 or #13 in the SEC in recruiting for several years now.

If anything, one thing we've learned is he's too inconstant. Lets be realistic, If mizzou averaged 7.5 wins per year, that would actually be ok. How the heck does a guys exceed what we expect, yet find himself on the hot seat three straight years of that. Thats actually impressive.

Not really. Their schedule was fairly weak at the beginning. I remember there being talk that Missouri would enter the UGA game undefeated. Missouri should fire Odom if they have someone better lined up. If they don't they should wait. Hopefully Missouri gets Leach.

Missouri should just be happy they are in the East and get to go .500 with the help of that miserable OOC

That soft arse school doesnt really deserve anything better

typically you're right. But we brought back most of last years 8 win team minus Lock, and we thought we brought in someone who was capable in bryant. There was enough talent on this team, which is what hurts the most.

Also, mizzou really never has had recruiting success. even the back to back B12 runs in 2008ish or the back to back sec east runs.

Mizzou doesn't do splashy hires. Not saying leach is, but even he is someone we dont look at ever. This is how it will work. BO will barely stay after this season. He'll have a weird pretty good season next year, get extended, and go back to being garbage but with a higher buyout.

He gets another 1 season minimum because after he beats Arkansas handily, and goes to a bowl game and wins they'll finish 7-6.

No, KB was a bust and nobody predicted it. Robinson is substantially better, so he’ll get another year.

Anyone who has ever watched Kelly Bryant play QB could tell you he sucks and is exponentially worse than what Lock gave you.

Barry Odom's main problem is that Mizzou fans are delusional.

Hes just mad at bryant.

Bryant hasn't been as good as we'd hoped, or as good as he was with a lesser offense at Clemson. Coaching could be why.

But if you look at his numbers, there should be an asterisk next to every stat.

like I said above, mizzou has the #1, #2, and #3 receivers in the SEC in dropped passes. That, plus him playing a third of the season injured isnt going to spell success.
