And like I said, it's been since the 30s a coach at UGA has left for another school.

Actually the last time it happened at AU appears to be 1922.

So it has been 91 years since a HC wanted to leave AU.

Wasn't Tubs going to be fired if he lost to Bama in 2002?

What are you talking about? Tubs beat bama in 2002. Jetgate followed.

My bad, I stand corrected. It was 2003.

But you got to admit, just like at Bama, at Auburn if you don't beat the other more times than they beat you, you're getting fired. I still say auburn is a top 10 job.

Maybe even a top 5 job

Ok seriously...you have to be joking. I understand people on here are homers sometimes, but auburn is in no way shape or form a top FIVE job in all of college football.

Just out of curiosity, do you consider Georgia to be a top 10 job?

And if so, where is the production? I'm not just talking about Richt either.

With all of that OMG ELITE TALENT in Georgia you'd think they would have a much better track record.

Of course, either side won't tolerate losing to the other for long, because at the same time, that means you're not advancing very far in the post-season.

Why? We are a historically great program with great facilities and great fans.

We are top 10 in wins and winning percentage over the past 50 years and have more undefeated seasons than anyone in the SEC for the past 3+ decades.

AU has great quality of life, little crime, a great campus and place to raise a family.

Add it all up. Top 5 certainly possible.

You are a top 15 program historically. There are 10 other teams at least that can claim a better history.

Lots of college cities have good quality of life.

It's not possible. It's not possible at all except to auburn fans, and mostly just you, really.

Out of alabama, texas, USC, Michigan, Notre Dame, and Ohio State (I'll stop at those 6, just because those are generally agreed upon by all), which job is auburn better than?

We can't let paranoia overcome us! We must figure out who these impostors are! Quick, all Aggie posters produce your jars!

Yes I do, for a variety of reasons. And before you call me a homer, look at everyone else in the thread who has actually listed a top 10 and UGA is in most of theirs as well.

Just because we haven't had elite coaches doesn't mean it's not a top 10 coaching job. Surely you understand that, right? Bama is likely a top 2 or 3 coaching job and from 2000-2007 yall were average to pretty good at best. That doesn't mean the overall job is any less appealing.

Attractiveness of a coaching position isn't the same as "well why hasn't your coach won a title there?"

I could make an argument for Auburn over Michigan, Notre Dame, and Ohio State. I don't necessarily believe that's true, but there are measurables that favor Auburn.

I really don't know why people say AU isn't a great job.

I hate Auburn with a passion, but they rarely have a bad team. I know last year was awful, but seasons like that happen to every good program.

Auburn is always a tough team with a great fan base. A good coach can win big at Auburn. Look at 2010...

I tend to think there is more to ranking these jobs than just recruiting. Maybe that's just me?

Who said it isn't a great job? The question is if it's a top 10 job in America.

Yeah, so does fricking everyone. Has anyone in here said recruiting is the one and only factor going into job attractiveness? I know I haven't.

Town/location
recruiting ground
history/tradition
conference
current foundation
current roster
NCAA standing
salary/school money
AD support
other programs in state

are all things that would go into job attractiveness.

It seems your whole argument over Auburn was based on recruiting though.
