I still think WVU to the Big 12 is the dumbest shite ever. I'm kind of biased towards the geography of it all though.
It doesn't make a ton of sense. WVU can't be happy with the travel aspects. (Don't think about football - think about sending golf/volleyball/tennis/non-revenue sports on all of those trips).
I don't think the idea of the Big East is dead. Look at those three geographical oddities in the ACC - Pitt, BC and Syracuse. Add UConn and you have the makings of a decent conference. You'd need at least eight.
West Virginia would return their call. Virginia Tech and Miami wouldn't. What about Rutgers? Temple? Cincy? All former Big East schools.

The ACC definitely should've taken WV over Louisville. Was it just b/c of Papa Johns money? lmao

drop it back to 10. the latest 4 additions have "added" nothing to the conference.
I wouldn't say nothing, but we were fine without them. Mizzou and Florida or A&M and SCar being in the same conference is retarded.

At the time, Louisville gave them more power in their first love - basketball.
The other elephant in the room is the rise of the commuter schools:
UCF
USF
Houston
Memphis
Cincy
Those five schools have a ton of students, are creating huge alumni networks, and have started to have success on the football field. Will a Power 5 conference take a chance on one of these? I don't think the Pac, SEC or B1G would, but the ACC and Big 12 might.
