No. They would take teams from states we are not already in.
Personally? I would love to see us take Duke and North Carolina and corner the market in basketball.

No, their road to the playoffs for now is basically getting by FSU. Much tougher road through the SEC in most years.
i disagree with this. it was true prior to the ACC expansion. FSU hasn't won that many ACC titles since expansion. neither has Clemson.
fact of the matter is SEC is basically a one program conference right now, similar to ACC in the 90's during Bowden's prime years at FSU, and the other SEC programs are seen as better than they are simply by being on Bama's schedule.

Hook an anchor around your neck and go explore the bottom of that lake.
And since it is so crystal clear...all of us could come point and laugh at you on the bottom of said crystal clear lake.
So yes...in a round about way...the acc (you on the bottom of the lake while we point and laugh) actually could bring some excitement to tSEC.

No, though TV packages be damned Clemson would be a good addition. There is a supposed gentleman's agreement between the one-school states to vote down any new member candidate in one of those states. I have no idea whether that's true or how binding it is, but it makes sense. And if true, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Kentucky, LSU, and Texas A&M would all be automatic "no" votes. That's two more "no"s than required to nix it.
If cable TV blows up and a la carte becomes the norm, that gentleman's agreement will make a bit less sense. Though there's still the whole recruiting within the state thing to worry about. I can't see Clemson-to-the-SEC happening until/unless cable TV blows up, and it's not a sure thing even then.
Not that it means anything, but I think most here are more interested in expanding (if it has to happen) into North Carolina and Virginia.

I can understand your hatred of FSU. Clem is at their zenith and you don't have a Natty to show for it. Next year, FSU will race past you and contend for Natty and your will, still be, well, Clemson!

College football playoffs
Clemson 2 of 3
FSU 0 forever
Not changing next or the next or the next...

We have 14 teams and a expansion isn't happening anytime time soon. I will tell you what, trade Missouri for Clemson and call it a day.

Conferences don't expand these days except to tap into new TV markets.
Clemson or FSU are much better fits for the SEC in terms of athletics and geography than Missouri but Missouri got in because they brought new TV markets.
Plus schools already in the SEC are against adding additional in-state schools.

Imo, Clemson is the best "fit" of any non-sec team, but I doubt they would get an invite bc of market considerations (2nd team in a smallish state).
I don't want expansion, but if it had to happen i'd be in favor of a north Carolina school.

We already own the state. Clemson brings nothing to the SEC.

Clemson is 8-6 against FSU past 14 and should have won down there two years ago but good kicker missed 2 FG. Clemson also has 1 more ACC title than FSU. i see u are trying to push a narrative but it doesn't work. we got a 5 star QB out of indiana coming in.
FSU was better than Clemson in 90s and early part of 00s and for a couple of years when they had Winston. i'm not sure why you are jock riding FSU though.

i wouldn't just assume Clemson would take an offer.

Expansion today isn't about teams, it's about TV markets. We have that market with USC. The next SEC expansion will be Va/Va Tech and NC State.

lol uva and nc state will never leave the other nc schools. might have a small shot at va tech but i doubt it.
a school ike uva with a pretigious academic rep is never going to be be caught dead in the SEC.
