No, but when I did, I bought mine at K&B Drugstore.

I read them every year and often bought them as gifts for my dad. It was kind of a beginning of Summer tradition.

No longer
I used to buy Athlons and Street & Smith. I think Street & Smith was the most iconic nationwide because it covered all the 1-AA schools as well
I still buy the Arkansas magazine Hooten's because it's got a story and player's profile pics of all the high schools in the state. Arkansas high school football is still down compared to decades ago, but it's still fun to flip through that high school section and be happy for all those kids.

the most iconic in Arkansas and Texas only was Dave Campbell's Arkansas Football and Dave Campbell's Texas Football
Hooten's now in Arkansas patterns their high school section after those old Dave Campbell's layouts and content.
I've probably thrown away some from before I was born, I just got tired of lugging them around every time I moved. May still have a few. Hope so.

That's the first one I started reading. Then I started getting all of them. Check out what forrest said about Antonio Langham. This brought back memories of Tarrant getting a Td on a shovel pass against UGA.

I'd buy all of them back in the early 90s. Sporting News, Lindys, Athlon, Street and Smith, and I'm sure a few others I don't recall.

Man the memories. Remember sitting on the floor in Ekerds in the magazine isle reading it cover to cover while mom shopped in the piggly wiggly next door.

I usually get Phil Steele’s preview.

I think i still own the one from 2005 that questioned if we'd have 2 2000 yard backs and we finished 5-7

I couldn't wait til it came out. Great previews of every team. I guess I'm an old grumpy frick these days, but it now seems like another casualty of "progress."
frick progress. Just give me Keith Jackson, the old bowl system and how it was.
Hope they have Internet in hospice.

Is Athlon’s out yet? But it every year but assumed that it’s not out yet.

I used to get Lindy’s and Sporting News. It signaled the beginning of summer for me, and it was great for middle school me to read on a car trip or flight. I tried Phil Steele a few times. Texas Football was always a staple and still is. It holds value in an era where college players move around too damn much, simply because it’s a treasure trove of HS info. There’s so many damn schools opening up statewide that it’s one of the best ways to keep up.
