Worst season since 2008, 08 was definitely more shameful

I don't remember many Alabama fans claiming we deserved the Sugar Bowl that season.

What a terrible point, and the fact you said "many" instead of "any" really doesn't surprise me

Alabama was 6-5 that year, and that was the same year Florida, and Tennessee both had inside tracks to the NC and both blew it in December. The SEC that year was nothing like this year, you tardfrick

Why? LSU had two freshman QBs and was extremely close to starting the walk-on TC McCartney, not to mention the two DC goatfrick.

You have 25K posts and you still can't detect sarcasm (I assure you, 0 Bama fans thought we deserved the Sugar Bowl) and you still call people "tardfricks" like a 13 year old who thinks he's being edgy.

At the very least offer to fight me IRL like an edgy 17 year old.

Kind of amazing that LSU was literally just a few plays away from 10-1.

I've never seen a fanbase outrage and meltdown so hard following a 7-4 season.

LSU went 7-4, with 0 wins over teams that finished ranked.

This was ya'lls worst season in almost 20 years.

It is strange. The problem is more of a failure to understand how bad the results were than a failure to melt down.

I really could have been more sage about this if we ended up with a real coach. But that failure.... uggg

I totally Agree w you

But, this is where you need to have some perspective

As shitty as all of that is, LSU was and most likely still is the ONLY team in the nation that can stand 3.5 Qs w AL and be ONLY a decent TR FR QB that can make plays w his feet from beating them.

Yep, fans seemed fine with losing to UF, thinking that eliminated O for sure. That didn't happen.

Incorrect.

2008 was worse. 3-5 in conference. No wins over teams that finished ranked. An extra loss. Finished the regular season unranked.

We can go undefeated and win every game by 40, and people will bitch about the price of a hot dog at the concession stand. LSU fan base got spoiled after a few good seasons. The main gripe with this season is how the athletic dept screwed up the coaching situation. If we started this season with a competent coach, with the talent on this team we could have finished 2nd in the west at 10-2. If we had hired a competent coach after this season we would be competing for a playoff spot in 2017

Yes, lose to AU by one second, lose to FL by one foot on 2 downs, and lose to Big Ten finalist WI in GB on an INT while in winning FG range by a QB that never sees another down the rest of the season.

Must be nice for arrogant AL fans to have a coach that has ALWAYS understood the significance of identifying and developing the most important position on the field, as he did when he was at LSU too.

And this thread comes from a poster with I Am Reality?

Go figure.

Of all the news going on right...you choose this topics? We fired our coach and want our AD out. It wasn't a good year!

Because we had 5 regular season losses, were 7-5. We had to make a 28pt come back vs Troy at home, lost by 18 to ole miss at home, gave up 52 to Uga at home and lost by 2 tds, gave up 51 to Florida and lost by 30pts, and lost to a 5-7 Arkansas team

2008 was definitely a worse and more forgettable season for LSU by any objective benchmark. Don't really care what the excuses were for 2008 the fact is it happened
