Do LSU fans not fully grasp how shitty their season was?

I've never seen a fanbase outrage and meltdown so hard following a 7-4 season.

LSU went 7-4, with 0 wins over teams that finished ranked.

This was ya'lls worst season in almost 20 years.

And yet a huge chunk of their fans are outraged about the rankings, who's ranked in front of them, their bowl bid, etc.

You went 7-4, with 0 impressive wins, that's historically an unranked trip to Shreveport in mid December to take on Iowa State.

Don't forget that they also hired a D Line coach as head man after thinking they are a "Top 5 job" nationally.

Sigh...

Looks like we'll instead take a trip on New Years Eve to Orlando to play the #13 team in the country.

To be fair, I think the OP's logic behind posting is in rebuttal to the LSU fans on here that feel a great miscarriage of justice has befallen them in the rankings and keep bringing it up, even when the conversation has nothing to do with them. And he's pointing out why they have no reason to be so pissed off, because they've had a bad year. Which is not untrue.
But for the record, I don't think LSU is a bad team at all. I think they are better than what they've been able to display this season, which is really unfortunate. But, that is what happens when you've been dealt a bad hand in dealing with the trials LSU has had in making decisions like firing a coach mid-season as opposed to not already having him gone and replaced. I feel bad that they had to go through that during the season, because they would have been a better team had the coaching issues been resolved in the off season. I might have an unpopular opinion here, but I think had Ed Orgeron been the head coach from the beginning of the year, the record at LSU would look more like a 9-3 or 10-2 season.

It really is quite interesting the optimism they still have. This was an awful year for LSU in epic proportions. They won 7 games, fired their greatest coach of all time after 4 games, got rejected by every big name coach they went after, and settled for a position coach who lost to UF and Bama in the same fashion (no offense) that got Miles fired. And yet here they are picking apart their season looking as if there is some hint of greatness left to be found.

That's exactly why I used it as an example.

I don't remember many Alabama fans claiming we deserved the Sugar Bowl that season.

If you think it is just us LSU fans bitching just to bitch get fricking real. Florida gets smoked in their last two games and they on drop a total of 3 spots? Yeah, these ranking are completely fair. Again, we lose to Alabama and dropped 11?

LSU was 7-4 yes. Was also 3 plays away from being 10-1.

-Interception against Wisconsin when already in field goal position.

-Snap the ball 1 second sooner on the last play vs Auburn.

-Get the touchdown on 4th and goal from the 1 vs Florida.

-Held Bama scoreless through 3 and only allowed 10.

From the outside looking in, yes, it was a terrible season. 3 plays away from LSU possibly catching a top 4 seed though. If Ohio State can get in being 11-1 and not winning their division or conference, LSU would have a chance after playing Alabama so close.

They beat Texas A&M. That's worthy of hiring a head coach and celebrating for a year for them.
