As college football becomes more corporate and professional, the less I care about the sport. Twenty years ago I would sit down and watch multiple games from multiple conferences each and every week of the season. Now? I only tune in when Alabama is playing. College football used to be part of who I am but the game has changed so much that I'm becoming apathetic toward the sport. Within a few years, unless things change dramatically, I don't think I'll even be watching anymore.

Wealthy executives that operate at the top of big sports media companies and conglomerates that grew up going to NFL games.

I love Saturdays in the Fall. But I'm afraid that might come to an end in the next few years.

NIL

This was done by a court in California.

Some guy on another forum surmised that liberal types set this all up to fail.

Whether it's the violent nature of the sport, the fact it costs most colleges more than football profits, or whatever the reason, most far left liberals seem to dislike major college football. I don't know if it's a long term ploy to kill it all, but it was an interesting observation.

Good post and I totally quit watching Pro Football all together after the kneeling, my 4 seats I keep and seldom go to the LSU games but will keep them just because.

Most likely will sleep in on Saturday mornings and play golf in the afternoon missing the day games.

Fans do have a say. Turn ur channels . Don’t watch the game. When viewership is low, they will start respecting the fans again.

For now, most of us will, but it won't surprise me when that begins to change. The college football we all know and love is coming to an end.

For me, college football started dying with the five wide/hurry up offenses. I miss college football pre 2010.

Please cite for me the current ideological breakdown of the US Supreme Court whose UNANIMOUS ruling against the NCAA helped open the door for this? There is absolutely nothing liberal vs. conservative or red vs. blue involved here.

The Supreme Court ruled that an athlete can market his name and image, not that boosters can provide incentives for that player to sign with the team the booster supports.

I have no idea if it's all a long ploy to kill college football and I don't know if he/she seriously thinks it's for real, but the poster noted that NIL started in California, and he's right about that.
