Really? College kids are just that. Kids.

18 and 19 year Olds make mistakes

you're barely out of high school

It just seems juvenile and not much of a real punishment for some as advanced in football as a D1 player.

This makes me realize how little control urban had. I can recall 2 instances of running for punishment.

I saw video of our players having to do them the other day. They also have to do push ups for dropped passes and stuff like that. I even saw coaches and beat writers having to do push ups.

Well, if we are talking about our high school glory days.

We were playing in an playoff game and weren't tackling for shite.

At halftime, my Dad -- head coach -- walked into the locker room, threw his clipboard at the white board, told everyone to get their shite on and go outside. We all go out and he has the whole team do tackling drills on the asphalt.

Everyone had bloody knees and elbows when we went back out for the second half. I think we outscored them 21-3 in the second half and won the game by 14 or so.

I still think physical punishments are fairly useless after a certain point. It all depends on the player, and I think it's a case by case thing.

Ah, up-downs.

One of my assistant coaches (Burney Veazey, backup quarterback for Peyton Manning and Tee Martin at UT) used me make me do these til I puked for being late to practice after detention. I learned my lesson after sophomore year. Brutal shite.

We used to flip huge truck tires around the perimeter of the practice field.

In Auburn's case, how would we punish the QBs then? Just not play one? Cuz they all deserve to be punished while they continually suck

Man, the things I would do to be in shape like that again (besides workout, eat healthy, and running of course).
