The only way they go to SEC is if they finish more than 5 spots ahead of Ala?

Or LSU just finish ahead of Bama... Or we finish ahead of bama and LSU is still in first...

Not true. We just need LSU to be ranked above Alabama.

I'm not sure on all the tie breakers but I thought

If we beat lsu and they get put behind us and in front of bama I thought they would look at the head to head of Ark LSU???(Not saying we would be put in front of bama but if we did beat LSU there is a chacnce)

Does SBC realize this thread is a failure...

because if LSU ranks above Bama then Bama would not be part of the head to head tie breaker.

I guess that is plausible. I have just seen too many post that all they need to do is finished ahead of Bama.

Who ever is lowest BCS ranked team (should there be a 3 way tie) is left out of the picture and the first two (Assuming they are within 5 spots of each other) would then go to head to head matchups.

All we need to do is beat LSU. Voters should give credit for LSU beating Oregon and keep LSU ahead of Bama.

If Alabama is ahead of Arkansas in this case, it comes to a head to head between Alabama and LSU which would go to LSU. The only way that Arkansas will go in a 3 way tie will be if Alabama is the lowest ranked team.

That's what's so lame about the poll/bcs system. If Arky beats us in week 1, then we beat Bama and Oregon late we'd be ranked ahead of all.

If they beat us late it could ruin everything.

ALL THE MORE REASON THAT PLAYING ARKY AT THE END OF THE YEAR IS HORRIBLE.

If Arkansas passes LSU, then Alabama is the west champion! It is the top two in the bsc then the head to head. LSU will drop out of the top five if they lose to Arkansas. Arkansas and bama will move up, that's just the way it is, get over it.

You are correct, sir. Arky's best shot is beat LSU and have Bama lose to Auburn.

There is no way to tell this. If Arkansas beat LSU by 3 points in Regulation: the situation could be to where LSU drops between Arkansas and Bama = Arky wins West. Or, also possible, Arky wins by 1 point in the closing minutes, LSU drops a spot, Arkansas jumps Bama = Arky wins the west.

Lot of hypotheticals. And assuming Arkansas wins out (huge assumption there, even with State this weekend), the situation will be crazy, and everything will just matter on the final BCS polls - which no one can accurately guess.

True, but no guarantee at all that Arky passes LSU. LSU's résumé is pretty stout.

Not likely, but it is possible that Arky passes us.

Of course it is.

State is going to put muliple knots on Arkie's head and body.

My preferred meltdown situation is Arky beating LSU in OT, but it's not enough.

It ends up Bama, LSU, Arky ... sending LSU to the SECCG anyway.

Chicken would have to add server capacity.

Then, LSU wins the SEC, making all of the talking heads argue that LSU beat Bama and won the SEC, therefore putting us back in front.

LSU has such a large lead in the polls over Arkansas that Arkansas would have to beat them by +14 to move ahead of LSU.
