Just trying to extend some good Ole Southern Hospitality. Sorry if that frightens you. I was raised to be nice to out of towners. Didn't mean to sound creepy.

It’s not creepy at all. I hope texas gets crushed, but good for you trying to help Georgia fans that are visiting.

It’s just another retard coonass LSU fan. Ignore him.

It's been told many times, Formula 1 Circuit is in town this weekend. Also some major concerts and a gazillion minor ones happening all over the metroplex.
Austin is packed and happening all this week.
Good Luck to you Georgia visitors. As Morrison sang it, No one here gets out alive.

My advice to Georgia fans especially if they have hotels rooms in or near downtown is to go out and walk around downtown at some point during their visit. Austin during F1 is full of foreign tourists who like to have a good time and it's a lot of fun.

Since this may be your first time in Austin if you have any questions that I could help you with I would be glad to share.

Nice gesture and all but if I'm kissing arse to anyone its to the rich Europeans coming in for F1, Georgia I'm sure you're nice people and all and go try the bbq and shite but thats about it.

Seems more like "It puts the lotion on the skin or else it gets the hose again" vibe.

It is Austin so there is DEFINITELY not a Zero percent chance at that.

So you live in Austin but aren't a Texas alum/fan? There is a Texas board here and plenty of advice for Georgia people in there. You could add your .02 to that thread.

I have a friend that has season tickets and went to Texas Tech, but he got the season tickets from his late parents.

Thanks. I just bought a spot at 400 E 8th street. About 1.5 miles from the stadium. Figure we will just meander up by the Capitol complex so my buddy can see it and then cut across to the stadium.

Probably going to Terry Blacks (been there a few times)when they open and then go park. Maybe stop by a couple of the bars in the 6th street area and start walking up to the stadium around 5:30.

Which bus do you take, the ones from the Intramural Fields or Barton Crook Mall?

I spent a lot of time in Austin Airport traveling for work, a LOT. Always a sight to see the F1 fans come in decked out in automobile racing logo clothing dragging matching luggage. Ferrari, Mercedes, Porsche gear, colors, and logos all over the place. That was kinda cool alright. A lot of extraordinary beautiful women too. Long, tall model type talent.

This game being the same as F1 weekend is a travesty. This city has incredible restaurants but every dinner reservation (Peacock, La Piscina, J Carvers, Red Ash, ATX Cocina, etc. etc.) is gone.

East side is the place to be. Austin Garden is a fun outdoor drinking spot with live music on the east side. If you go around the corner on E 6th to the side, there is an entrance where you can take the elevator up to the rooftop bar called IYKYK with a nice view of the city.

West Sixth you will find a lot of bars with games on. Rustic Tap is great.

Lot of great cocktail bars like Roosevelt Room. The others I wont mention because I'm not trying to run into crazy lines, it's up to yall to find them.

For the younger crowd, The Betty is a fun place to party - you'll see some celebs like Joe Rogan here. Alibi if you like house / contemporary disco. The Cut for afters.

eta - everywhere is going to be packed because of the F1 crowd.

There are zero homeless people walking around anywhere outside of a 1 block radius of dirty sixth. None of you guys will be in that area, it's for peasants and college kids and in the mold of Bourbon/Beal street.
