Both those guys were 100 times the Alabama haters that Shane was towards Auburn. Shane was harmless and often an annoying homer but like I-man was at least somewhat intelligent and could present a reasonable point even if it was heavily slanted against his rival. I don't remember Bama fans being overly callous towards the 2 Auburn fans you mentioned after their deaths. There were comments about them letting bitterness and hatred eat them up but that's not an insult as much as a factual observation. Those 2 guys blamed almost all their personal problems and Auburn's problems on Alabama and Alabama people. You have to admit they were very bitter people. Mark Green himself said watching Alabama win it all might kill him. The fact that Alabama fans later pointed that statement out when he died shortly after Bama's title run isn't their fault.

Sorry, I disagree. Mark Green never did anything Shane hasn't done. And the quote I put out there was just what i found in 30 sec. of digging. I saw some way worse on the day they actually died.
