on a technical note, 'Tennessee' is used as an adjective in the song. "Rollin' down a backwoods, Tennessee by-way" - "Tennesse by-way" is synonymous with "backwoods"

Who gives shite. Growing up in NE Alabama drove many Tennessee byways and had a great time on some Tennessee saturday nights.
