Its actually a great game. Because of work, I have lived in Maryland for the last 4 years. Both of my kids, girl and a boy, have grown up playing. I think that it will continue to increase in popularity, especially on the boys side, as an alternative to football. It is a very physical sport but has less of a concussion risk. And as more research comes out regarding the long term risk of concussions I think that parents will start looking for alternatives. There is definitely hitting but you will not see a lacrosse player put their head down and spear anyone. And there is no tackling to the ground which significantly lessens the risk of hitting your head on the ground which is where many concussions come from.

Title IX is such a joke due to their being no female equivalent for the number of people involved in football. It just ensures that there are more sports scholy opportunities for women than men. I would love to see men's teams for boxing, rugby, soccer, ice hockey, and lacrosse.

Real SEC hockey with NHL support would be a game changer for the sport. I would love to go downtown to the River Center to watch LSU take on Alabama with a trip to the SEC Championship Game on the line.

I really wish LSU would drop swimming and add lacrosse. Been saying it for a few years now, because it's just a sport LSU has a low ceiling in

I don't know why anyone thinks hockey is a better fit for the SEC than soccer. I mean, just look at all the rec league and high school hockey programs across Dixie. While we are at it, let's add slalum and snowboarding.

Dam yankees.

They aren't actually thinking about the practicality of starting a legitimate D1 hockey program.

Lacrosse is a big stretch for most SEC schools. Hockey would be even more difficult.
