Will ESPN3 stream the SECN?

My guess is that they will stream the service. Since its ESPN distrubting the service. However, even if they don't someone will illegally.

Hopefully they at least do it in non-market areas. I mean I won't let not having the network stop me from watching any game I'm interested it's just a matter of convienance

I have Direct TV right now my contract expires in Sept. I am seriously thinking about unplugging, paying 130 dollars for television a month is getting to be a bit to much. I can also see Direct Tv putting the SEC Network in there sports package. So you will have to pay an additional 10 dollars a month for it like you have to do to get CBS Sports Network, BTN and some other sports channels.

don't forget the SEC Network will show 3 games per Saturday and cbs only gets one pick, after that espn can put the rest of the games on any network they want (espn, espn2, espnu, SEC Network) so in other words after cbs picks the SEC's best game, espn can put the SEC's 2nd, 3rd,and 4th best games on SEC Network to draw subscribers.....also let's not forget that cbs's coverage doesn't even begin until week 3, so the first 2 weeks espn owns all the SEC games to put wherever they want, so if you don't have the SEC Network you'll spend a lot of time on the rant looking for updates or on sportscenter looking for highlights.

ESPN doesn't distribute any of their content, none. The cable and satellite companies distribute it. Your ISP (not cable/satellite company) must have an agreement in place with ESPN in order for you view content via ESPN3.

You really think ESPN is gonna do that and take the risk of losing out on adverstising revenue by not having big games on their flagship stations?
Advertising revenue is minuscule compared to subscriber fees. Subscriber fees is their bread and butter. Also, since ESPN has a family of networks and other products, they can easily switch ads to run on their other networks.

Hm I just looked it up and they said it would cost 0.15 per month for out of market users. My shitty cable company better pony up.

This. I've had both and DISH dwarfs DirecTV in every respect. The Hopper & later, the Hopper w/Sling has taken top awards for the last two years running @ the CES show along with virtually every comparable award from the technology reviews. It has no peer & remains years ahead of the field of cable providers as well as DTV. They have now advanced to the point you no longer need a wired connection to any auxiliary TV's you might have by using either wireless or, virtual connection via a TV app. For the record, I installed satellite for several years and take my word or not, DISH's technology push has left everyone else in the dust.

How any subscriber of Dish or Direct can say how shitty the other service is blows my mind. Unless they have recently switched.

DirecTV's exclusive distribution for NFL Sunday Ticket & the SEC Network quote: College football >>>>>> NFL Unbelievable that some of y'all would think otherwise. Personally I agree, but nationally NFL is much bigger than college football. And NFL is WAY BIGGER than just the SEC. And when I say bigger, I mean more popular. To put it perspective, here are the 2013 TV ratings... CBS NFL Games - 18.7 million viewers per game FOX NFL Games - 21.2 million viewers per game SEC TV Games - 3.8 million viewers per game (SEC is by far the highest rated conference. Big 10 is 2nd with 2.9 million)
I've always been curious too see how the college numbers would fare if there were only two channels showing games.
I don't think it would rival the NFLs numbers, but the disparity would be far less than I think a lot of NFL folks think.
