Serious question: How has MSU not benn kickedout in all these years? They are more worthless than Baylor or Northwestern.
We hold a 2-1 record versus y'all and we have something you will never have. Charter membership. We can't be voted out. But guess what 4 schools can?

So I'm guessing these standings are propped up by equestrian, diving, swimming, quiddich and water polo?

We could buy Starkville and turn it into our own personal airport.

You are a broke in half QB away from being a 5-7 team next year with a lot of pissed off schools on the schedule. I would curb your enthusiasm.

Ground to a halt?
Meh Director's cup includes 20 sports, 10 men and 10 women's.. our women's sports are awful but we are good at mens tennis and baseball. Decent at football and we had that track guy that won a NC this year..those few sports are about all we have that is good.

Your one saving grace.

Auburn is the most impressive AD on this list. I mean, we had a god awful year in football. God awful year in basketball. We're terrible at baseball. Hell, even the swimming slipped up this year. How in the WORLD are we sitting at 38?
I'm glad you pointed this out because I was about to mention this but didn't want it to look like I was singling out Auburn. You guys by your own admission are having one of your worst sports years ever and you're still ahead of Alabama.
I don't get the numbers at all. Even last year when Alabama won 4 national championships (football, gymnastics, softball, and women's golf) The basketball team also made the NCAA tournament and men's golf barely missed a national championship and Alabama STILL finished like 6th in the SEC in the final standings. Does having a couple of really bad programs make THAT big of a difference. What am I missing?

This list is compiled by Yankees to feel better about their schools place in the NCAA. Most of the criteria probably doesn't even apply to most SEC schools. It's stupid for Alabama not to be ranked first

Why did we steal their AD?

You answered your own question.
How? Alabama and Tennessee have 2 SEC schools and they aren't nearly as bad.

Not a measure by NCAA.

At this time last year, they were 48th.

I agree but I'm still dumbfounded that what we've done this year puts us at 10th in the SEC. Even more bizarre was last year's results when Alabama finished 6th (I think) in the SEC. That despite winning 4 national titles with a runner up finish in a 5th sport (men's golf) with a basketball team that made the NCAA tournament.

When we won the football and basketball titles in the same season, we finished 6th in the Director's Cup. Foley has utilized the success of football to make nearly every sport nationally competitive, I think last year the average national finish for our teams was around 7th.
